Medium offwhite head. Copper body with light carbonation. Fruity, lemony aroma with notes of lime. Sweetish fruity lemony taste, again with a kind of lime background. Clean, medium mouthfeel. Dry malty caramelly aftertaste dominated by the same lemon/lime character. Not terribly complex, and extremely unusual, but quite OK. This is really the beer Corona should have been. What the association with Christmas could possibly be I really couldn’t say. (0.65l bottle from the wine monopoly.)

Bottle 0,65l. Golden colored. A shortlived creamy head. Aroma of berries. The flavor is dominated by sweet fruit and berries. Sourish bitter finish. No Christmas feeling at all. Label design better than the content.KI=4

650ml bottle. Clear golden body with intensive carbonation and a small off/white head. The aroma is vague malty and a bit perfumed (spices?), don’t like that smell. Flavor is quite mild malty with some kind of perfumed bitterness. Watery body and not well-balanced, a bit to thin and sweet. Forget the Christmas stash, the world has room for a wider idea of a suitable beer for the season than Norwegians. As a Bière de Garde I find this more ordinary and with a lack of the flavors I expect compared with others I have sampled. To ordinary and weak.

(Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of yngwie. Clear, amber golden with a rough, off-white head. Lightly sweet aroma of roasted malt. Medium body with sweetish, roasted malt and a dry, hoppy finish. Obviously bottom fermented, more of a Bock really. 191207

Bottled. A golden beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of malt and dusty hops. The flavor is sweet malty with light notes of caramel. I find it boring.

Bottle, 65cl. Nice, clear, deep golden body with a good carbonation and a medium-sized, dense, off-white head. The aroma is nice, citrusy and fruity. A bit on the artificial side though, but nice. There’s some malty notes as well. The flavor isn’t at the same level. It’s even more artificial, citrusy, malty-sweet and a little spicy. Medium to full, slightly sticky mouthfeel. It has a long finish with the same citrusy and fruity, artificial flavor, a good bitterness and some spicyness in the far back. Not sure how much I like it. I’m sure that I don’t like it as a Christmas beer though. It’s quaffable in a way, but too sweet and artificial. (071122)

650 ml green glass bottle, entirely covered in very "christmasy" plastic foil. Courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. Also available in Norway at Vinmonopolet, bestillingsutvalget. ABV is 5.8%. Clear and deep golden colour, large and lasting head. Fruity and spicy aroma with notes of farm kitchen, quite nice. The flavour has some of the "spritziness" of other bières-de-garde, but is sweeter, with caramel. Artificial "aroma" (whatever that may be) has been added, hmmm ... That is probably what I get some candy / pear drops notes from. Moderate hops in the finish. Not your typical Christmas beer, but drinkable.
