Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 21B - Black IPA). Bottle 50 cl - Batch L007 (BBF 04/2019). AROMA: medium malt aroma with slight caramel and roasted notes (coffee-like). low background of oxidized hops. APPEARANCE: very dark brown color with ruby body against light. medium-large light brown head with good retention. lace formation. TASTE: medium-low hop notes with a slight citrus component, starting to show oxidation (dried grass). medium-high roasted malt notes with a unsweetned black chocolate and slight coffee. medium-high bitterness with a dry and bitter finish. PALATE: medium body with medium carbonation. no astringency. OVERALL: a black ipa on its "imperial" version where the hops already started to disappear.

APPEARANCE: light gold color and clear. medium white head with low retention. TASTE: medium-low notes of coriander (lemony) and orange zest. low notes of yeast (uncooked bread) and slight neutral acidity. slightly sweet neutral malt background. medium-low bitterness with a dry finish. PALATE: medium-low body. medium to medium-high carbonation. OVERALL: a witbier-like beer with a bit touch of yeast and almost imperceptible wheat.

AROMA: initial low metallic note, followed by medium-low yeast products (fruity), uncooked bread (yeast), low sulphur and cereal husk. no hops detected. APPEARANCE: gold color and cristal clear. medium white head with good retention. TASTE: low malt flavor with grainy notes, medium-low yeast (fruitiness and cells). low sulphur and cereal husk. medium-low bitterness with a dry finish. PALATE: medium-low to low body. medium carbonation. OVERALL: a czech-like pilsner without hop presence and too much yeast-derived products.

AROMA: medium estery notes with notes of oranges and slight lemon. slight yeast and faint oxidized hops and lacquer alcohol notes. APPEARANCE: gold color and clear. medium white head with good retention. leg formation. TASTE: similar to the aroma with notes of yeast esters (oranges), faint cereal husk, minerals and yeast. medium-high bitterness with an excessive dry and bitter finish. PALATE: medium body with medium carbonation. slight bitterness astringency and alcohol warmth. OVERALL: an american IPA without hop notes, slight astringency and an what seems to be an overwhelming esters form fermentation similar to a saison.

330ml bottle [Thanks to the TVs!]. Clear, orangey, dark golden to amber colour with average to huge, frothy, moderately lasting and lacing, white head. Slightly artificial, fruity, minimally dusty yeasty and bready malty aroma, hints of peach (Trolli Pfirsichringe). Taste is minimally bready malty, slightly fruity, sweet-ish, artificial hints of peach. So-so.

330mml bottle (Lisboa edition). Tasted on the 05/11/2017 at home. Infected?? Murky golden with no head. Aroma of lemon, spices and yeast. Taste is lemon zest and yeast. Fizzy finish. Next one please!

330ml bottle [Aveiro ed., thanks to the TVs!]. Cloudy, yellow-ish golden colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Citrusy hoppy and minimally wheaty aroma, notes of lemon, lemon zest. Taste is citrusy hoppy and wheaty malty, notes of lemon adn lemon zest, underlying, minimally sweet hints of banana. Not an authentic Hefeweizen, but quite a nice, refreshing Wheat Ale.

33cl Bottle, Portugal edition. Murky golden colour, white head. Aroma of wheat, some lemon, yeast, spices. Flavour is light tart, lemon, wheat, yeasty, light spicy. Light bodied, fizzy. It's drinkable but not very good.

33cl Bottle, Portugal edition. Abv is 5.1%, Portter (sic). Brown colour, off-white head. Aroma of milk chocolate, caramel, dark fruits, smells like a Dutch bock. Flavour is medium sweet, fruity, some chocolate, hint of roast, bitter finish. Light bodied. Not great tbh.

33cl Bottle, Portugal version. Hazy golden orange colour, white head. Aroma of Brett, light cheesy, pepper, floral, peach. Flavour follows, mellow, not very hoppy, light Brett. Light bodied. Not too,bad, considering the apparent infection.
