Tasting at Matt's, can
Dark color, near black, with very small head. Strong aroma of breadcrust, some alcohol. Medium body strength, roasted nuts dominate, the liquorice is quite strong too, followed by a touch of vanilla; strong character.
It really needs a few minutes to develop in the glass; atypical but very good.

473mL can, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is fairly fruity, with light cocoa and toasted malt. Flavour is similar, with toasted malt, some cocoa, toasted malt, and alcohol. Fairly sweet, with more so boozy. Not an overly complex beer, but it's decent.

Dark brown. Whisp of a head. Does have some woody bourbon character, but on the nose the base beer shows a fairly husky malt character. On the palate, lots of alcohol, bit of fudgey sort of cocoa powder character. The wood and alcohol from the barrel is quite apparent but that sweetness, Ends up ok, brash and unrefined but decent.
