The brewery was founded by Phil and Cynthia “Scuttle” Bannan in 1996 with a 20 barrel system in the brew house, two 20 barrel fermenters and one 20 barrel bright tank. Since then our capacity has grown and we have broadened our product line to include more than 20 styles of hand-crafted ales and lagers. After more than 20 years Scuttlebutt Brewing Company remains family owned and independent.
Since the beginning Scuttlebutt beers have been brewed in Everett with the Northwest’s finest ingredients – barley from Vancouver, Washington, hops from the Yakima Valley, a proprietary yeast from Odell, Oregon and some of the nation’s finest drinking water from the Spada Reservoir in the Cascade Mountains. Our beers are clean, balanced and have been brewed with care for over 17 years.

Tap at Anthony’s in Lynnwood, WA. Pours translucent copper with an off-white head. Aroma is rather roasty malt, and citrus? Med body. Flavor is very roasty malt. Arguably citrus hop. Pretty malty, yet rather bitter.
Bottled @Vasa Sessions ABV 5.5% Dark brown color, steady small beige head. Caramel, chocolate in the nose. Medium-bodied. Chocolate, some toasted maltyness, finish has nice bitterness. Smooth sweetish porter.
