Description
Urban Artifact is Ohio’s home for sour beer; located in the historic St. Patrick’s church in Cincinnati. With a special emphasis on fruit beers, they have created a niche with their signature overfruited Midwest Fruit Tart style focusing on balance, drinkability, and real fruit. Brewing a bevy of different sour beers, from the standard German style gose, to the exotic spontaneously fermented barrel aged sour with a wide variety of different fruits, there is sure to be something new and exciting to explore. We are currently on pace to use over 400,000 lbs of real fruit this year alone!
Our Northside, Cincinnati taproom is open seven days a week, with food service provided by Wildfire Pizza Kitchen. We host live music five nights a week at the Radio Artifact Live stage, and make the historic church sanctuary, The Reliquary, available for receptions and events.
Radio Artifact, the Urban Artifact hosted independent music radio, can be listened to on 91.7FM HD2 in Cincinnati or live streaming online at radioartifact.com

12 oz can from share, courtesy of Toby. Murky purple, pours flat. Big fruity aroma, berries. Taste is more of the berries, fruity, sweet, thick. Mostly sweet, hint of tartness.

Can from Craft Brewed shared. Pours a clear gold with a finger of foam that dissipates almost instantly. Brett forward aromas with some wood and apricot notes. Mildly tart, low carbonation on the palate. Easy drinking pale with some oaky creaminess and mild brett alongside citrus that lingers.

Draft at Craft Brewed. Pours a clearish gold with a finger of foam that dissipates quickly. Key lime pie nose with some crust aromas as well. More key lime on the palate with cinnamon and flaky crust notes. Some light sweetness and mild tartness. Definitely captures the key lime pie vibe. --- Beer merged from original tick of Keypunch on 10 Aug 2018 at 20:57 - Score: 7. Original review text: Key lime pie nose with some crust aromas as well. Can from Craft Brewed. Pours a thick and viscous pink banana color with a finger of foam that lingers, then dissipates. Lots of tart passion fruit aromas in the nose with some slight doughy malt notes. Creamy banana sweetness and guava texture on the palate. More passion fruit tartness with some passion fruit skin/seed astringency. Super creamy, and lingering tart finish that as some slight astringent and acidic notes. Banana sweetness keeps it from getting too harsh. Not really beer-like but fun. --- Beer merged from original tick of Fire Iron on 05 Aug 2018 at 17:35 - Score: 7. Original review text: Big passion fruit forward nose with fruity acidity...light strawberry. Banana and guava on the palate. Tart PF, creamy sweet banana finish.

Can. A- Sour, tart, lemon juice, mild grass. A- Orange color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Bitter, pine, sour, tart, lemon juice. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, tart finish. O- This was as pure a hybrid as any I've tasted. They call it a sour ipa and it is every bit ipa and every bit sour. So that is indeed well done. On that note, it just didn't quite work for me. The tartness was pretty extreme, especially as it warmed and mixing that with the fairly aggressive bitter notes created a bit of an astringent taste. Not bad, but didn't quite work for my liking.

12 oz can from Tavour, rated yesterday up the river. Aroma is citrus rind, peach. Pours like peach puree with a collapsing off-white head. Taste is tart (7/10) and a lot like carbonated peach juice with a hint of alcohol. Not getting the vanilla. Good fruit beer.
