Description
Urban Artifact is Ohio’s home for sour beer; located in the historic St. Patrick’s church in Cincinnati. With a special emphasis on fruit beers, they have created a niche with their signature overfruited Midwest Fruit Tart style focusing on balance, drinkability, and real fruit. Brewing a bevy of different sour beers, from the standard German style gose, to the exotic spontaneously fermented barrel aged sour with a wide variety of different fruits, there is sure to be something new and exciting to explore. We are currently on pace to use over 400,000 lbs of real fruit this year alone!
Our Northside, Cincinnati taproom is open seven days a week, with food service provided by Wildfire Pizza Kitchen. We host live music five nights a week at the Radio Artifact Live stage, and make the historic church sanctuary, The Reliquary, available for receptions and events.
Radio Artifact, the Urban Artifact hosted independent music radio, can be listened to on 91.7FM HD2 in Cincinnati or live streaming online at radioartifact.com

hazy orange-gold pour. It has a tart, pumpkin and spice aroma. The flavor is moderately tart with pumpkin and pie spices, sweet malt, and generally a fruity character that I guess must come from the pumpkin.

Pours a murky purplish color with a small quickly fading head. It smells of berries, maple, and malt. The flavor is sweet with a blend of berries, maple, vanilla, and more. The high abv is thoroughly buried under everything else. This beer is good but to me seems muddled. Maybe it’s trying to do too much at once.

Can a 12pack of other Pickle beers. Poured a golden yellow color with a medium sized white head. Aroma was big cucumber, in fact, I was kind of surprised how much this was like cucumber juice over everything else that I expected this to be. I've had other pickle beers, and those are usually more acidic and dill like. In a way this was quite nice due to how refreshing it was, it was kind of like cucumber juice with some coriander. Maybe not the best beer to have in the middle of winter, this would probably hit really well during a hot day during the Summer.

Can a 12pack of other Pickle beers. Poured a golden yellow color with a medium sized white head. This was my favorite in the pack. There's sweetness, sour, and tartness. Light sweetness is coupled with some pleasant saltiness. I really liked this one, it's got dill, a variety of spices. I can see what they're talking about with the name Chicago Relish.

Can a 12pack of other Pickle beers. Poured a golden yellow color with a medium sized white head. Unlike Pickle, there was more depth to the aroma in this one, the sweetness of the bread and butter pickle comes through here. Cucumber, light sweetness, with some very light tartness comes through. Kind of liked this one.

Can from the February 2025 Small Batch Society. This beer is a slightly hazy golden color with a medium thin white head that dissipates steadily to a wispy film. Sparse strings of lacing. Aroma of lemon, spice and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of mildly tart lemon, Old Bay spice, malt and yeast. The finish is fruity up front with an Old Bay spice aftertaste. Unique for sure, and decent overall.

Can a 12pack of other Pickle beers. Poured a golden yellow color with a medium sized white head. Like Pickle, the aroma was big cucumber. There was a light pepper aroma to it, but not overly hot. I've had spicy beers and this really didn't smell all that much like a spicy beer. Cucumber juice with some coriander, dill and some very light spice. Maybe not the best beer to have in the middle of winter, this would probably hit really well during a hot day during the Summer.

Pours chunky, murky orange with no head. Smells of tart mango. It tastes quite tart, at least moderately so. Obviously there’s mango. To me there are also citrus notes. Maybe that’s just from the tartness. It’s malty and finishes tart. Good fruity brew.
