About
Kungsholmens Kvartersbryggeri is started in Stockholm by a group of beer enthusiasts and homebrewers. This is in response to the limited supply and the less flavorful beer. The brewery is named after the owner's childhood idol and grandfather, Nils Oscar.
In 2006 Nils Oscar outgrows the premises on Kungsholmen and the brewery moves to Fruängskällan in Nyköping, we feel at home here. When the brewery has reached its maximum capacity of 1,000,000 litres in 2013, another expansion starts, out with the old and in with the new. We now have a modern brewery and equipment that makes us very quality assured.

44 cl can from Systembolaget. Dark amber colour with a fluffy off-white head. Sweet aroma with caramel malts, citrus, crackers, and floral hoppy notes. The taste is bitter. Medium body. Dry and bitter finish. Nice, textbook Best Bitter.

--Canned, from Systembolaget. -- Clear golden, small head. Piney nose. Sweetish with light to medium body and clean, hard mouthfeel. Piney hops on fruity malt. Resinous bitter finish. Basic. A pale shadow of what Nils Oscar, or Kungsholmens Kvarterbryggeri used to be.

(Bottle) Amber colour with frothy, tan head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of dried apricots, caramel, bread, butterscotch and orange. Fruity, malty taste with dried apricots, caramel, bread, orange peel, toffee and a mild herbal/floral bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Nice one.

Rödbrun vätska med ett finbubbligt kaffegräddfärgat skum överst. Aromer av rök, charkuterier och bröd. Stadig maltighet med tydliga men ändå balanserade röktoner. Sötma men lagom avvägd med beska. Eldig men aldrig överdrivet alkoholstark. Längre eftersmak.
