Description
We create our own beer recipes – with homemade malt (BOM means Belgische Originele Moutbakkerij or Belgian Original Maltbakery) forming the basis for a secret composition of ingredients, called a “BOM package” – that we brew according to the principles of a gypsy-brewery. The Triporteur beers are our point of departure and our basic beers. Besides those, we also launch a special beer line with once-off products.

Bottle from De Hopduvel. Murky brown colour, white foam. Aroma of light roasted malts, vinous character. Light sweet, light tart notes. Bitter finish. Alcohol is very well hidden. Good.

Bouteille 33cl, BB 19/08/2015.

11.2oz bottle. Foams up when you open it, not quite a gusher. Unfiltered orange-tan body. Massive foamy, pillowy off-white head. Bitter, astringent aroma...dry noble hops gone stale and earthy. Not that impressive at all, has some potential infection issues, as it has some woody, leathery brett notes. Has some yeasty depth. Overall, this isn’t that impressive of an offering. Drinkable, worth a tick, but wouldn’t be hyped to try it again.

’Diabolical’ ale with light beige, stable head and hazy dark burgundy colour. Aroma of raisins, caramel, apple, red wine, plums, banana; sweetish fruity onset, candi sugar, dryish, powdery mouthfeel, caramelly and somewhat chocolatey malt sweetness, spicy yeastiness, leafy and peppery hops in the finish. Very decent dubbel.

’Versnijbier’ with loose, off-white head retaining only at the edges, hazy brownish amber colour. Sour sweet aroma of gooseberry, passion fruit, yoghurt, lemon zest, sherry, wet hay, melon, starfruit, vanilla, white wine, butterscotch. Estery taste, sweet and fruity with immediate tartness, lemony touch, smooth caramelly malt backbone, vanilla accent with drying sourish finish, vinous with a late and subdued, subtle leafy hop bitterish hint.

330ml bottle, many thanks to Finn Arvid for sharing. Two finger-thick, pearl white head. Hazy orange-gold coloured body. Spotty lacing rings down the glassware. Drying aroma of citrus and herbal hops. Tolerably tartness upfront to the taste buds balanced by malty sweetness beneath. Ripe citrus to the finish. Partially refreshing and satisfying (Tromsø 19.11.2014).

Bottle. Orange in color and topped by a small, white head. Fruity aroma with some rubbery notes and a funky touch. Soapy and faintly herbal. It’s lightly sour in the flavor, fruity-sweet and with some herbal bitterness. Medium body and a soft carbonation level. Fruity, faintly sour finish. Not bad this one, but lacking complexity and it’s too boring. 141108
