500ml bottle. Jet black colour with late awakening, small, creamy, slowly diminishing, minimally lacing, dark brown head. BA supported, roasty, slightly spicy, dark malty aroma, notes of treacle, dark caramel, roast, whisky, a touch of lovage. Taste is sweet, roasty, chocolately dark malty, caramel malty, notes of dark caramel, treacle, chocolate sauce, some toffee, a touch of cinnamon, vanilla, whisky, plum butter, Extremely viscous texture, smooth and soft, cloying palate, fine, soft carbonation. Rich and intense, condensed, incredibly viscous - great!

A very dark brown beer with a beige head. Aroma of roasted dark malt, bitter chocolate, coffee. Taste of roasted dark malt, chocolate, coffee, liquorice, intense piney hops. Long bitter finish.

A clear golden beer with a white head. Aroma of mild grassy hops, pale malt, hay, straw. Taste of gently grassy and floral hops, pale malt, hay, moderate to long bitter finish.

473ml can. Quasi black colour with minimally late awakening, average to huge, firm, frothy to creamy, very slowly osteoporosing, moderately lacing, tan head. Mildly roasty, chocolately, dark malty and weak, minimally zesty, citrusy hoppy aroma, hints of cocoa, dark chocolate, a touch of coffee, hints of orange peel, lemon, mandarine, a touch of orange flavoured chocolate. Taste is surprisingly homogeneous, citrusy fruity hoppy and chocolately, mildly roasty, dark malty, some raosty bitterness, some zesty bitterness, notes of lemon, orange and dark chocolate, or rather lemon flavoured resp. orange flavoured dark chocolate, some cocoa, a ouch of caramel, some residual sweetness; tobacco overtones in the finish. Immensely creamy texture, smooth and soft, silky palate paralleled with weak astringent (tartness) and pungent (bitterness) aspects, simultaneously a greasy-oily effect on the lips as well; very fine, dense, mildly prickly carbonation. Relatively weak, or better, thin hop flavours in the aroma, very homogenous, amalgamated taste, extraordinary mouthfeel - pretty good.
