Hazy, medium gold, extra frothy pour @Growlers. Orange rind, sweet onion, soft herbal hops. Lots of initial orange. Juicy, somewhat pithy, bigger herbal bitterness, remaining fruity. Off-dry, bread loaf, a bit dusty in texture, but quite hydrated. Lasting orange essence. Pretty good for a simple beer.

Clear, copper pint on the deck of Grrrowlers. Smell is rum & milk chocolate, maybe slightly fake. Bitter sweet earth, vanilla, sweet almond, mellow roast, lactose, rum, middle of a Snickers bar. A bit too boozy for only 8% Bottom of the list of the handful of golden stouts I've had.

This 16 oz can was bought at the Total Wine in Dallas close to Love Field. This evening I have my Great Heights tulip glass in place for all samplings. I lift the can and tilt into the glass to see a hazy orange-yellow liquid with a promptly receding top of fully white foam. The scent is juice, tropical and a touch of pine. A drink gives an improvement on the nose. Enough hoppiness to register, pineapple, mango, varnish, malt and some orange peel. I get a welcome bitterness but it’s hard to believe it is 85 ibu. Finishes dry. Labeled on the can as a double west coast IPA, strikes me as being more NE style, just saying.

A pastry imperial stout that contains all ingredients that I like, hope it works out. I am holding a 16 oz can that came from my local beer shop. It's ready to go inside of my Cowtown snifter, I determine a black body with a bare touch of brown around the edges with a steady, khaki head that slowly settles into a nice skim. The smell is attractive in my first sniff, bakers chocolate, coconut presenting itself and wheat bread. The taste is even better with dark chocolate, some saltiness, sorghum, coconut, toasted malt and grain. A fine sweetness for the style and plenty of thickness as I drink more. Some coffee at the end, I do not think I am reaching on that. A fine combination of flavors that makes for a good sipper.

Low bar set here, another hazy IPA, like I haven't seen six hundred of them in the past year. 12 oz can opened now and pouring inside of my Great Heights snifter. The view is a unclear lemon yellow body with a persistent skim of absolutely white foam. A pleasant nose, tropical certainly. And the drink. Lightly pineapple, white bread and a bare touch of bitterness to go with the fruit sweetness. All somewhat thin.
