Sampled from a can this beer poured a black color with a huge foamy brown head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was strong salted caramel and dark chocolate although fairly artificial. The flavor was salted caramel, malt and chocolate. Again artificial. Long finish. Medium body.

24 ounce can into lager glass, canned on 12/21/2017. Pours crystal clear golden amber color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a thin spotty lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Good appearance. Aromas of cracker, corn, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey/pepper, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with pale malt/corn and mild earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of cracker, corn, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey/pepper, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Mild herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, corn, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, light honey/pepper, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice robustness of pale malt/corn and mild earthy hop flavors; with a solid malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying flavors after the finish. A bit of fruity corn aromas/flavors, but not overwhelming. Fairly crisp/clean finishing. Nicely clean on lager flavors, not too fruity/yeasty. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Minimal warming alcohol for 5.5%. Overall this is good iced pale adjunct lager. All around good robustness of pale malt/corn and mild earthy hop flavors; very smooth and fairly crisp/clean/refreshing to drink. Nicely clean and rich pils malt/grains, and mild earthy hop presence/balance. Not too overdone on adjuncts, and not overly sweet. A nicely enjoyable offering, and well made style example.

12oz can. Well, this tastes as expected. Smells a little cheap and empty but definitely some dark malts. Flavor is light dark earthy malts and a general macro feel. Short finish. Not sweet. Low hop. Is in line with expectations. Which is better than disappointing.

Bottle from wegman's chitaugua. First I went to twist off the cap but ripped my finger. So I got a bottle opener only to see it was actually a twist off; I'm getting old. Cloying old country aroma. Taste is quite strong and malty mossy, just like the old country. Pretty much on style for a good old scotch ale dude. Nice immo jenny.

Bottle from wegmans chitauqua. Malty smelling brew with a tad of dull hops on the nose. It looks like there are precipitants floating around inside. Initially the taste is quite IPA like but then it kindah fades a little. Yes, an APA bordering on the territory of an american IPA. I have actually had IPA that were less strong than this. Some co2 makes this almost acceptable, but it is still mouth coating like an IPA fer sher. All the characteristics of difficult on style IPA but with a little co2 bite and it is a little thinner. Not as rude ass as expected considering its made from bad ass simcoe, but it is rather nasty on style. Seems to be more alky than stated here, good dizzying impact to the senses.

From a can this stuff comes across a little rubbery; is this a cream ale trying to be an IPA? Smell is pine and tar. Are IPA and cream ale not at opposite sides of the continuum? Just asking. I always thought of cream ale as a rather friendly little brew. Look, I find jenny cream ale acceptable, but this is pushing the envelope a little. Like IPA and rude ass hops? Try it, you'll like it. Attention all craft IPA loven dudes: Flip my numbers, ratebeerians! When you hear what you like as ubiquitous elevator music, you're a has-been.
