Description
The Genesee Brewing Company, based in Rochester, New York, is one of the largest and oldest continually operating breweries in the United States. It was founded by Mathius Kondolf, one of Rochester’s early entrepreneurs, after purchasing the Reisky & Spies Brewery (since 1857), changing its name to The Genesee Brewery.
The Genesee Brewing Company is since 2012 part of FIFCO USA, the largest independently owned beer company in the United States. With a focus on product quality, facility upgrades (including the relighting of the iconic Genesee Beer & Ale sign), conservation initiatives and employee safety, FIFCO USA has invested in the Genesee family of beers, its employees and the community.
In 2012 The Genessee Brew House was created to capture and share with you the long history of The Genesee Brewery - one of the largest and oldest continually operating breweries in America.

Ha Ha, a big stovepipe black can for a buck fitty at giant eagle, the large bird of prey. I was casually doing some food shopping and saw this from across the isle in the, 'get you cheap buzzed fast', cooler, it was calling my name. I had to go checker out. Pour is pale yellah in my stang, with a white head that fades. Nose is scary volatile malt likkah cream corn. First taste is rather boozy as well. Probably a little smoother than I expected, but make no mistake, it it what it is; a cheap merikan malt likker that should be in a brown paper bag. It has one purpose, especially with a can this size. To get you to alky relaxation time; vegging out, chilling like a villain, and zonken out. Yea, in the middle, still going down OK. I'm so used to these cheap alky bomb malt likkers, making me get the gag reflex. So far I'm good. Maybe because its only 8%. I'd say its even smoother than those bullshit pale amerikan ice beers. Decent co2 as well. One thing's fer sher, it taste better than most of those poorly made IPA messes of the domestic variety. I'd drink this any day over those bitter bastards. In the end I find this is actually a little better than expected.

Better than Genny Cream Ale, so there’s that. Kind of a milder Modelo Especial, with a toasted grain sweetness and a slight floral bitter streak on the finish. Exactly what you’d expect it to be.

10/12/2025. Can from Bobby’s Supermarket, Road Town, British Virgin Islands. Pale golden pour with a fair sized white head. Metallic, sweet, cakey, stewy aroma. Very sweet, with an unpleasant bitterness developing and a tart edge. Watery and fizzy. Not the trips highlight.

Keg tree lighting! Nice cinnamon notes, and the cinnamon stick garnish is a nice touch.

Bottle from Aldi, accidentally froze slightly and thawed: Lemon and triscuit nose. Clear brass, medium head, nice lace. Chemical and soapy. Medium body, harsh mouthfeel. Thank goodness it was cheap.

12 oz.bottle from Aldi. Pours a crystal clear orange-gold color with a white head and good retention. Decent lacing. Standard pale lager aroma. Standard pale malt flavor too, with some bready notes in the finish. Slightly sweet. Nothing special, but a good example of the festbier style. Smooth, clean, and easy drinking. Easily repeatable. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Low bitterness. Prost!
