Description
The Genesee Brewing Company, based in Rochester, New York, is one of the largest and oldest continually operating breweries in the United States. It was founded by Mathius Kondolf, one of Rochester’s early entrepreneurs, after purchasing the Reisky & Spies Brewery (since 1857), changing its name to The Genesee Brewery.

The Genesee Brewing Company is since 2012 part of FIFCO USA, the largest independently owned beer company in the United States. With a focus on product quality, facility upgrades (including the relighting of the iconic Genesee Beer & Ale sign), conservation initiatives and employee safety, FIFCO USA has invested in the Genesee family of beers, its employees and the community.

In 2012 The Genessee Brew House was created to capture and share with you the long history of The Genesee Brewery - one of the largest and oldest continually operating breweries in America.

24oz can from a random Butchers in Orange County, California. Poured into an old Corsendonk stemmed tulip a few times, at my daughters on 28th August 2025. Golden body, clear and clean, short lived white affair on top. Soft feel to the proceedings, bland overall with a weak malt and hop presence, no expert on Cream Ale's, but this isn't something to write home about. Finished the whole can, but I'll not be seeking out another any time soon.

Bottle from ALDI for 2$. Slight haze on pale. Mild, aged pale lager nose. First taste is also an aged pale lager feel, date code is f235 17 22 20. So, could this be a beer from 2020 WTF? Decent carbonation. Goes down like many macro pale lagers that have been sitting on the shelf for a year or so. In the middle, not the best in the world, but certainly no real rude attributes. Eh, in the end I probably would not buy this again. I really like wits, but this stuff is a little before the standards of the real thing from the old country. However, if I com across what I think to b a fresh bottle, I'll try again.

$1 can off the clearance rack at JR's. Pour is totally clear with a pale light orange tint. Odd peach nose with no hint of mango on the olfactory. First taste tho, is primarily mango with a hint of peach in the background. Not one for peach or mango beers but this one is not getting on my nerves, yet. In the middle, there is a bit of a cloying effect building. Yes, this is a sweeter brew fer sure and its pretty much absent of any tartness. I think a little tartness would add lots of points. In the end, it could also use a bit more carbonation to keep it somewhat refreshing, otherwise it comes across rather weary on the finish. Maybe could only do one of these, fer sher.

Can, surprisingly considering the description, this pours clear pale yellow like any other pils. Friendly mild fruit perfume nose. First taste is sweeter blood orange with a tad of pils bitter bite behind it. Goes down easy. Decent level of carbonation. Yes, that mild pils bite remains in the background with the fruit remaining up front. Mind you, it does let you know its a beer; the fruit is well balanced and never in yer face. Unlike many dull fruit beers, this is a little more sweet and mildly tart. Just curious if the flavorings are artificial or not; hah now I see it does say natural lime and tangerine on the label tho. Finished the can before I knew it, could easily do another of these.

Bottle. Dark golden color. Nice head. Aroma, just ok, slight malt and honey. No hops. Taste is sweet but not in the nasty way. Really good beer.

Can. Really disappointed with this one. Started off great. Nice pretty ruby amber color. Aroma smelled like the can. Tasted like a cross between PBR and Killians. Not good.
