330ml bottle - gift - as Hiver Amber Ale. Copper body, no head. Nose is malty, caramel, sweetish honey notes. Sweet malty taste, bite of honey, slight smokiness. Not bad.

Bottle from Hogs Back shop. I guess Hiver have decided to give beers without honey a go (not mentioned in the ingredients). However the aroma is still sweet and malty. Pale gold. Thin creamy white head retreats to the rim. Light-medium bitter with a citrus edge. But there's juicy sweetness in there. Underlying malts. Light. Thin but slick. Fizzy carbonation. Long dry finish. Not too bad.

My first tasting of a number of beers purchased at Amathus Soho on a trip to London. The 33 cl bottle says best before 21/05/22. No problem, making that date and room to spare. The pour goes into a hotel glass, a clear yellow with a white head settling to a skim. The scent is grain with some sweetness coming through. I get the taste as advertised, a bit of citrus early, grain and honey in the finish. Pleasant, even interesting in an innocuous style.
