Description

Wicklow Wolf was established in late 2014 after the meeting of two likeminded friends with a common interest in good beer. Quincey Fennelly and Simon Lynch both fell in love with craft beer while living in California for many years. Setting up a brewery together was always inevitable.

Can from Mitra Assendorp, Zwolle. Aroma is fruity hop with citrus, orange, tropical fruit, mango, light pale malt. Flavour is moderate bittersweetish. Medium body. Pleasant.

Strong aromas from this one, detectable as soon as cracked. Proud head with lacing on a classic medium yellow slightly cloudy base. Interesting nose: pine, funky / vegetal sweetness, grapefruit. Strong body: bitter orange marmalade sweetness hits first, then surprising maltiness. Nice lingering bitter finish. Pretty good.

Black with a short tan head. Aroma of cinnamon malt. Flavour is chocolate cake, cinnamon spice, creamy base, spice on the lips.

0.44 can, 4%. Pours golden yellow with small white almost immediately disappearing head. Aroma of apricot and peach all over, hint of mango. Flavor is juicy and bit sour with dominant apricot and peach, slight mango. Medium carbonation. After taste is apricot again, peach and a hint of mango, very sweet. Kind of artificial flavor.

Elevation Pale Ale from Wicklow Wolf

Classic IPA golden in the glass with some cloudiness. Head disappearing to 3mm but persistent. Nice nose: passion fruit some rose / Turkish delight, citrus. Flavour bomb initially in the mouth: very nice hit of passion fruit, citrus. Sweet. Recedes quite quickly though. Lingering satisfying bitter. Very good!
