Old notes from Jan 2015- I had previously been really impressed with the one & only beer I'd had from Ilkley Brewing, so had been looking forward to this bottle. It pours a decent looking brown ale with a brown head. It tastes of caramel but after that it was down hill.. the bitterness was far to strong for me. A mixture of US & New Zealand hops according to the bottle label. I just know that it was a hard 500ml to get through.

Postmen used to deliver twice a day in years gone by.
Light easy water here, not a stated hoppiness but decent fruity notes are evident. Some sugars.

Jet black pour, small beige head. First thing I got off the aroma was a punch of smokey Chipotle.... Then I look at the commercial description, and it all makes sense. Lots of smoke, and Chipotle. Very bitter, with some distinct pepper flavours, with the slightest tinge of heat. As it warms the cocoa comes through with a subtle sweetness.

500ml bottle from Marks & Spencer. Clear golden pour, fizzy white head, rings of lacing. Sweet, grainy aroma, biscuity. Taste is bready, crackers, light crisp bite at the finish that fades slowly.
