Chelmsford Beer Festival. Cask. Almost a clear gold beer, bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and semi dry with modest fine carbonation. The pale malts bring mild sweetness. Spicy bitter floral hops. Trace of lime. Bitterish pine. Smooth dry finish. Strong bitter linger. Well hoppy, got a bit of a snarl about it.

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Cask. Almost clear deep gold beer, residual pale cream colour head. Light semi dry palate, mild fine carbonation. Nice clean pale malts, trace of honey. Hops are mildly skunky with marmalade and light lemon. Touch of something floral. Finishes smooth with an orange peel bitter linger. Nicely joined up. Vocation continue to impress, although condition here could have been better.

Cask @ Calans, Hebden Bridge. Golden with a thin head. Slightly dry hopped with plenty of tropical fruit in its nose and flavours. Has a mild bitterness.

Bottle. Curious Hop, Otley. Clear amber. Messy, sticky, white head. Peach, mango, and apricot hop. Some citric pith. Juicy malts. Taste is juicy, pithy bitter. Starts light, and rises. Palate is juicy, too, with fine carbonation. Finishes with some lasting, piny, zesty bitterness. Really good.

Bottle. Curious Hop, Otley. Clear gold. Thin, dense, lasting, white head. Beautifully fresh, vibrant passion fruit, mango, and grapefruit aroma. Sweet, juicy malt background. Taste is crisp, clean bitter. Palate is also crisp and clean. A minor quibble is the slight over carbonation. Finishes light, lengthy bitter. Reminds me of the best of North Riding. Excellent.

Almost clear amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry, the carbonation level for a bottled beer is weak. Malts being slightly stodgy caramel sweetness. Hops bring skunky pine and mild bitterness. Trace of ripe fruits. Light finish. The lack of carbonation generally makes this one feel stodgy and after the stellar Heart and Soul, this was quite a disappointment.
