Cask, gravity dispense at Woodford Beer Festival at The Duke, Woodford, Northants, 25-05-07. Pours dark brown, some spiciness in the aroma which also had a slightly burnt note. Tasted sticky, some toffee, some spices, nice malty balance, very good beer.

Cask, gravity dispense at Woodford Beer Festival at The Duke, Woodford, Northants, 25-05-07. Pours standard brown colour, refreshing quite fruity with a dry finish, fine but no great shakes for my bones.

Dark chestnut coloured. Smells of bitter chocolate and raisins. Also tastes of chocolate and dark fruit with a long dry finish. Good.

Bottle from Wine Rack, March 2007. Golden hued with sweetish aroma. Coriander was over prominent and clashed with the other flavours. Not for me.

Cask handpull at Wenlock. Copper/amber colour with disappearing bubbly white head. Not a huge aroma. Some nuttiness in mouth, some strawberries/raspberries. Quite good bitterness on finish. Faint yeast, caramel, red fruit aroma. Nuts, caramel and fruit make this a very interesting weak session bitter.

(Cask at Wenlock Arms, London, 25 Nov) Amber colour with small white head. Fruity nose with dried fruit and raisins. Fruity taste with dried fruit (prunes, raisins) and earthy hops giving it a nice, bitter finish. Not exceptional, but a nice session bitter.

Amber body with a small white head. Good clarity. Slightly sweet malty aroma. Bitter fruitiness in taste. Well balanced, but a very ordinary brew (Hal pint on cask at The Lower Red Lion, St Albans 27.09.2006).
