Bottle from Mr Lawrence Wine Merchants, Brockley. I cast my ’Angel Eyes’ over this brew and noticed a black pour with a tan head. Smoke, chocolate and coffee aroma. Coffee, raisin and chocolate flavour. Certainly not a ’Trash’ beer. Dry, sweet finish. May grow ’Stronger Through the Years’. Certainly one to ’Dance Away the Heartache’. This pun-some/over egging the pudding presentation was brought to you by Planky84 with invaluable help from a certain Mr Ferry.

Half pint, by hand pump, served in a mug at the cozy Whitelocks pub in Leeds. Patchy, tan-coloured head atop a pitch black body. Roasted dark malts to the nose, hints of liquorice. Roasted malts to the taste profile with notes of coffee and liquorice. Dry malt bitter ending. Pleasant porter, a bit thin, though (12.07.2012).

Cask at CPK, London. Pours clear, rich yellow with a fine, white cream head. Pale, doughy malt nose with pleasing straw. Great flavor, well balanced, with toasty straw, light melon, mild toasty grass. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Great condition. Faint dry finish with touches of lemon, mild grass and pine, some dirty straw and hints of crunchy cereal. Super drinkable and superbly balanced.
