My bottle is a gusher. about ⅔ of the bottle end up in the sink. Very sad. The beer starts smooth and intense. Ripe yellow fruit, fermented banana, hints of milk chocolate on a full body. Sweet but not sticky, and still fresh and quite easy to drink. The afertaste is fresh, yeasty-deep, hints of sourness which makes it highly drinkable. Very nice Weizenbock.

Huge, dense cream head, slowly receding over copper-coloured beer, leaving lacerings. Slightly toasted, malty, herbal-leafy nose. Very dry, toasted, herb, leafy, but with a distinct hoppy finish. Bitter toast or bitter cornflakes. The wood is not easily discernible; retronasal some non-sweet caramel. Light body, seemingly high attenuation, very dry. Eminently drinkable - typical for all Schäazer beers. But where is Frankenland going to? "Ale" statt Alt, "Barrique" statt Holzfass... And in a Belgian 75cl corked bottle, with muselette"! But I draw the line at the qualification here. This is a bitter German Alt, but in no way an IPA!

Muffig hopfiger Beginn, leicht herb. Wenig aromatisch, Holznoten, trocken werdend. 9/7/8/8/79/7

750 ml. bottle sampled @ RBBSG III. Thanks! Clear amber with no head. Sweet cooked brown apple nose, herbal with liquorish. Taste is sweet cooked vegetables, apples, herbal, bread. Bit thin. Nope, this isn’t it. This is a big step down from the regular version.
