Description
BridgePort produces a variety of international style ales, including IPA. BridgePort’s ales are naturally conditioned in the bottle, keg, or cask from which they are served - they’re never force carbonated. The natural conditioning creates ale that is smooth, naturally carbonated, and full of flavor.

Today, BridgePort Brewing Company is one of the top specialty brewers in the state of Oregon. As BridgePort Brewing grew in popularity, it also grew in its brewing capacity from its 600-barrel beginnings to over 100,000 barrels per year. Distribution has grown from Portland to 18 states, and the brewery’s emphasis on producing quality, innovative ales has provided it with an international following and numerous awards.

This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a copper with just a tad of clearness to it to allow some light streams of carbonation rising. There was a nice lumpy foamy white one finger head that sustains for a good two minutes before gently concaving to leave some semi-thick lacing.
The smell, I’m not sure where I’m getting this and I don’t think this is intentional but every time I smell this there’s a light intriguing blackberry aroma in the front. As it warms, caramel malts start to take over, still some light pine hops help to balance.
The taste is bitter and just a tad sweet with some citrus fruit to balance. There’s no blackberry in the flavor but I’m okay with that.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium with a fair sessionability about it. The carbonation is there and good for the style and just enough harshness for me.
Overall, if BridgePort intentionally put in the blackberry, honestly, I really liked it. If they didn’t, oh well, for the most part I liked this one and would definitely seek out again.

Bottle from QClub at home. Hazy orange-amber pour. Aroma is hoppy - a bit English-y in it's tart/sourness (Golding?). Taste is light. Again, more English IPA in flavor profile - crisp hops but without much depth. A bit sweet too. Pretty plain English flavored IPA. Not terrible but wouldn't get again.

This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a golden copper color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than a minute leaving some light spider web lacing. The head does maintain a nice level film all the way down.
The smell had a nice light sticky sweet spicy earthy blend that is pretty good to me.
The taste follows the aroma.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it. The carbonation seems just a tad under for the style but seems to make this one a tad more sessionable. There’s a sticky sweet spicy aftertaste leading to a dry finish.
Overall, I say this was a good AIPA definitely worthy of having again.

Bottle from QClub at home. Translucent copper pour with thin foamy head. Aroma is very nutty (almost like toast) with a slight bit of spicy hops. Taste is similarly very deep and nutty, followed by earthy hops (English?) bitterness. Almost a bit tart. Not bad but probably wouldn't get again.

Bottle from QClub at home. Hazy amber pour with thick dense fine head. Aroma is yeasty like a slightly citrus pilsner. Taste is similar - a bit flat at first with pronounced sharp bitterness. Palate is smooth and frothy - not bad. Very bitter finish. Not bad but nothing special.

Bomber from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours rather orange with a slight white head. Lots and lots of citrus - . For aroma. Med body or better. Flavor is nice caramel and lots and lots of citrus. Light hop burn that burns brighter with time. This is yummy. Finishes pretty dry, pretty hoppy and pretty bitter.

Bottle from a mix pack from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours slightly orange gold with a slight white head. Aroma is quite fruity. Not Nelson; must be one of the other Southern Cross hops. Med body or better. Flavor is a little earthy, very fruity, might have resin notes. If there’s citrus, it’s eclipsed for me by the fruit. This is a very nice, very drinkable IPA. Finishing fruity, a tad earthy, and quite bitter. Not NW bitter, but pretty comparable.

Bottle from a mix pack from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark copper with a transient beige head. Aroma is fruity, but a little peppery spice seems to follow. Med body or better. Flavor is fruity with some peppery spice. The malt is slightly roasty. It’s sort of an ESB thing, except there’s hot spice, and the pepper increases in the finish. Quite different and quite nice.

Pour is a hazy orange with a large foamy white head. Aroma is a decent citrus hop with chalky malt. Flavor is an ok hop with a minor bitterness. After the swallow more of the lemon zest is left. Decent beer but it left a little to be desired as it was somewhat thin and not hopped up enough.
