Bottle. Hazy brownish amber with a lovely dense off-white head that leaves rings and lasts very well. Aroma of hammy smoke, layers of toffee, a nectarine note that maybe doesn’t really fit. Tastes as it smells - real depth to the smoky toffee flavours, a fruity note that lightens things where I’m not sure I wanted it. A little spicy at the end. Good.

On tap at Alehouse Project. Very foresty nose. A big pine forest that is. This is all about the resiny hops, and that shapes the mouth feel. The malts offset the bitterness well to make for a surprisingly balanced and drinkable double IPA (dare I say ’sessionable’??)

[11/14] Bottle. Amber with a dense white head that lasts very well. Aroma of pine, passionfruit, kumquat, grapefruit, peach. Oily, moderate carbonation. Some light bread and caramel sweetness that’s barely enough to restrain strong resinous bitterness. Peach, mild tropical notes, tenor register citrus. Long finish. Bold clear flavours that sit well together. Maybe a bit sticky for me. Good stuff though and you get the impression that they hit what they wanted to do square on. [3.7]Can, under the name Canis Major. Sweet, oozing resinous hops, strong bitterness. Very clean.

From a 330ml bottle on 20/3/2013. Pours a slightly cloudy yellow with a big head. Has a faint aroma of musk lolly and honey. In the mouth, you get some quite sweet bready malt, some distinct honey notes, and a medium hop bitterness at the end. Not terrible but not at all compelling.

Pours amber with a small creamy head.Fruity hoppy aroma with floral and spicy notes also showing. Lots of caramel and honey underneath.Malt dominates the flavours, lots more honey and caramel until the bold hoppy bitter finish. Well balanced.

Bottle. Poured a cludy amber with a thin beige head. Pleasant aroma of flowery hops with hints of orange and maybe caramel. Striking palate dominated by a vel;vety creamy frothiness. Tangy start that was somehow reminiscent of marmalade, giving way to a nice bitter finish. A very good beer.

Cloudy orange , pale beige head. Fruity hops aroma. Real tropical sweetness followed by a steely bitterness. Seems like an IPA to me. I find the tropical sweetness a bit sickly, but this is a well-made drop.
