Aroma of orange, pine, passionfruit, honey and rockmelon are followed by orange peel, lemon and lots of tart pine in the mouth. It’s very hop forward as advertised but with impressive length leaving a lingering hot alcohol streak in the back of the throat that’s pleasant rather than overbearing. Not a lot of malt, but plenty of body nonetheless. A very enjoyable IPA.

Bottle. Deep red with a beige head that laces extravagantly. Aroma of treacle toffee, grass, menthol, green mango, guava, kumquats. Then a little lighter bodied than that big noseful suggested, creamy with carbonation on the low side of medium. Malty with molasses and some bread, but not all that sweet, Accented by tropical fruit and citrus. Moderately bitter with some spices emerging at the end. I wouldn’t have thought those malt flavours would go with those hops but it all fits together very nicely.

From bottle. Pours orange/red. Lovely subtle caramel notes plus a punchy resiny hop kick. Very very well balanced. A cracking good beer.

Pint on tap at The Local Taphouse before Roosters game. Very distant hop/vegetal nose. Clear golden beer with a few tiny bubbles. Small scummy head. Medium body, faint hoppy taste. Finish is mildly citric with malt undertones. This is a session beer. Nothing more, nothing less.

Pours gold with a small head.Nose shows floral and spicy hops along with soft sweet malt.Similar flavours, althought there is some cardboard-like malt as well. Pretty decent though, with a nice spicy hops character.

From a 330ml bottle on 28/4/2015. Pours a murky olden with a small head. Has a lovely aroma featuring lots of passionfruit and lychee. Take a sip and you get a light bready malt backbone, with stone and tropical fruit (peach, passionfruit), and a firm lingering hop bitterness, featuring some light grapefruit. Medium bodies with average to lively carbonation. A distinctive and quite impressive Aussie IPA.

Growler. Clear gold with an inch of white head. Aroma of passionfruit, grapefruit, mango, grass, a little biscuit. Medium bodied and sweet with loads of fruit - those mentioned plus gooseberry. Lower bitterness than I’d like but enough to clean up the sweetness on the palate. And a little pine stops it from being fruit salad-y. This would kill on a stinking hot Brisbane evening.
