Bottle share at Steve’s. Mild for a RIS, but super tasty. Slick and slippery, mild smoky and savory notes, cinnamon, nutmeg and anise. Highly enjoyable.

Can at the Austin Motel - picked up at the Whip In. Pours mostly clear gold with a creamy, white head. Simple aroma, with touches of biscuit, cereal and hay. Light-medium sweet flavour with further biscuity character, faint meringue, lightly butter straw. Light bodied with average carbonation. Pretty clean on the finish, with hints of grass, hay, lemon rind, more cereal grains, biscuits. Solid, easy-drinking kolsch.

Bottle. Pours opaque black, small tan head, dissipates quickly, minimal lacing. Aroma is quite spiced, chili peppers, cinnamon, hint of smoke, cocoa, tobacco, vanilla. Flavor is medium sweet, light bitter, light plus pepper heat, but does not really build with time. Powerful spices throughout - this is not a subtle beer by any stretch of the imagination, but it kind of works. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel.

Bottle courtesy of linusb. Pours blackish dark brown with a frothy and fluffy pale mocha head that slowly dissipates while leaving lots of sticky lacing and trace on the glass. Smell is malty and fruity with roasted malts, toasted cereal, toasted oatmeal, dark bread, instant coffee, dark chocolate, raspberries in milk, moist soil and hints of alcohol. Taste is sweet, bitter, malty and fruity. Mouthfeel is soft, round, slightly velvety, slightly astringent, tiny boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is tiny sweet and bitter with mealy malts and raspberries in milk. Very mealy in the malt base which I don’t like at all. Raspberry character and lactose elements are on the other hand better, actually quite good, but the malts just ruin everything for me. --- Beer merged from original tick of Raspberry Temptress on 12 Mar 2016 at 00:42 - Score: 7. Original review text: Oatmeal with raspberry jam and milk. Like the raspberry character but hate the grainy steeped cereal malt base.
