Pours cloudy very dark brown with airy tan head. Dusty aroma of roasted malt, with subtle notes of hops. Bitter and dusty flavour of hops and roasted malt, with notes of some spice and coffee. Lingering, bitter aftertaste with sourish notes. A weird Schwarzbier.

Draft - Apricot and fruity Belgian yeast. Clearish gold with a rich beige head. Bubblegum, apricot and sweet fruit. Not sure if I really get the smoke, but the sweetness may have covered it up. A decent strong, but nothing special.

Bottle - Peach, pineapple, lychee and other tropical fruits. Hazy yellow gold with a rich white head. Light tropical fruit, grass and yeasty finish. Light and refreshing, but it could use either a kick of bitterness or tartness to add depth.

Bottle - Wheat, lemon, grass and a slight skunky bitterness. Clearish gold with a rich bubbly white head. Wheat, grass and some light refreshing bitterness. Rye adds some nice spice that makes it a bit more interesting. I think this is a nice refreshing beer with some unusual but decent flavors.

Sample at The Bottle Shop in Dallas. The beer pours a clear copper color with a medium thick and fluffy off-white head that dissipates slowly. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, hops and spices. Medium-bodied with flavors of citrusy hops, malt and fruity yeast. The finish is moderately bitter with a hoppy aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sample at Libertine in Dallas. The beer pours an amber-orange color with a medium off-white head that diminishes steadily to a film. Partial rings of lacing. Aroma of caramel, fruit and spices. Full-bodied with flavors of red fruits, caramel malt and earthy yeast. The finish is fruity with a malt and spicy yeast aftertaste. Above average overall.
