Sample at Meddlesome Moth. Pours black with a medium creamy tan head that diminishes slowly to a film. Sheets of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. Medium to full body with a roasty character and flavors of black coffee, chocolate, charred malt and slight hops. The finish is mocha and roast malt. Pretty good Imperial Stout all around.

Tap at Craft and Growler - I am torn on this one - it has a nice crips dryness to it, and an ample bitterness, but the flavor of the mosaic and citra seem out of place at first, but mellow and settle as your palate adjusts - the phenols are a bit plastic-like up front, but settle into some earth and light funkiness - a little bit of sweet melon and mango, and a touch of ginger at the end - okay, I guess I like it.

Thanks to crajun for sending this one in a trade. Pours hazy gold with a white head. The aroma is spicy citrus with a touch of Belgian funk in back. The flavor is lightly bitter but with little malt sweetness. Not a typical IPA though due to a definite Belgian yeast influence. Nice one, definitely different than the norm.

Bottle from Rosebud Butternuts. Pours hazy light orange with a slight off-white head. Light rye notes in the aroma. Med body or nearly. Flavor is lemony with some hot bits. Dryer than not. Better than many wheats.

Bottle from Rosebud Butternuts. Pours clear copper with an off-white head. Aroma is malty/bready with some herb noble hop. Med body. Flavor is caramel with a decent load of herb and maybe grass hop. Suddenly in the finish it gets pretty bitter. It wasn’t, then it was. Finishes towards dry for sure.
