From a 330ml bottle on 15/8/2010. Has a quite unusual aroma of fruit, nuts, and burnt toffee. Begins with sweet malt and caramel flavours and finishes off with a decent and quite long, slightly spicy hop finish. A serviceable bitter which rates streets ahead of their pale ale.

Bottle. Straw colour with loose head. Grassy vegetable hop aroma. Thin watery palate with little carbonation. Sour thin taste with vegetable aftertaste. Overall, nasty and disappointing.

Bottle. Very slightly hazy yellow. White head that fades to a fair coat. Smells of lemon myrtle and maybe some other citrus. Very thin body. Rather cleaning fluidy taste. It’s pretty well made but the balance is way too much towards the lemon myrtle (at least for someone for whom it’s not an exotic ingredient). A disappointment after their wattle seed ale.

The lemon is there for sure, in the aroma and the flavor, but I would have liked a little more of it. Very smooth on the palate. Light wheat flavor, this comes too close to being a bad American-style wheat beer, but there is just enough flavor to keep it from going down that abysmal route. Refreshing, and for $.80, I can’t complain.

Lots of malt in this beer. Some bread dough. Sweet with grain. A grittiness with some carob. Amber color. Pretty solid session beer, especially for $.79.

From a 330ml bottle on 3/1/2010. A rather lacklustre pale ale. No distinct nose, not particularly hoppy, and a bit too sweet. Not terrible but rather pedestrian.

Pours golden amber with a small fading head.Aroma is pretty grainy and shows minimal hops.Flavours include lots of grainy malt and grassy, fruity hops, some banana, but all quite faint. Finishes with a metallic bitterness.Carbonation is over the top.

Bottle. Orangey-brown, beige head. Mainly caramel aroma. Taste has lots of fruit sweetness with just about enough hops to balance, but certainly not enough for any lasting bitterness. Not special, but OK.

Bottle. A nutty red-brown, small beige head. Cereal malts, nuts and seed nose. Robust caramel and dull chocolate taste with interesting earthy nutty notes, presumably from the wattle. I was expecting either not to taste the exotic ingredient or for it to be some hideous novelty piece of Australiana - it’s a pleasant surprise to find it’s neither.

pours clear golden, white head. Aroma full lemon peek, some yeast and spicy coriander. Flavor, lemony, found it to be not overly bitter, with a nice lemon tartness. Spicy coriander comes across as peppery, more so than the lemon that is more subtle and adds a thin herbal palate.
