Description
Established in 2014 by best mates Adam Edinborough & Rhys Watkins in Rhys' then Garden Shed in west Cardiff. Crafty Devil Brewing are Cardiff's alternative to the corporate mass producing breweries. A truly independent and staunchly proud Cardiff Brewery Crafty Devil Brewing are now brewing in Ninian Park Road, Canton, Cardiff.
Producing exciting, quality and tasty beers in the styles which Adam & Rhys want to drink. Crafty Devil believe that beer should be drank fresh, as locally as possible and made by people who love beer!

Draft at Brewdog Shepherd’s Bush. Reddy amber orange coloured pour with a lasting frothy off white head. Aroma is nutty malts, diesel, dank hip , orange rind. Little vanilla on the nose as well. Flavour is composed of little vanilla, cakey, toffee, pine needle and orange rind. Palate is a little too sweet, flabby, moderate carbonation.

Draft at Brewdog Shepherd’s Bush. Amber brown coloured pour with a lasting thin sticky head. Aroma is black liquorice, raw grains, Chines five spice. Flavour is composed of dark fruits, liquorice, dried fruits. Nuts. Palate is semi sweet, grainy, highish carbonation, slightly creamy. Lingering bitter liquorice. OK.

Draft at Brewdog Shepherd’s Bush. Translucent golden orange coloured pour with a lasting small white head. Aroma is spicy citrus, veg, light pollen, hint of funk. Flavour is composed of slightly raw base grains, zesty citrus, veg, lemon. Palate is semi sweet, highish carbonation. Grainy. Spicy citrus. Good.

Draft at Brewdog Shepherd’s Bush. Black IPA goodness. Opaque black / dark brown coloured pour with a lasting frothy light tan head. Aroma is nutty toasted pine tips, orange rind. Flavour is composed of smooth bitter black roast, toasted pine needles, wood. Assertive smooth Hoo bitterness. Piny. Palate is medium. Light bodied, highish carbonation. Little bubble gum.

Flavour is composed of nutty milky coffee, soft bitter roasted barley, slight veg pepper. Some coconut. Palate is semi sweet, milky, moderate carbonation. Little thin. Little lingering charred wood.

Pigs Ear Day 4. Cask. Clear amber beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth, reasonable carbonation. Nice semi sweet malts, mild cream, support good orange peel hops. A little hop spice. Light finish. Decent, some condition would have been great.

Cask at Pigs Ear 2015 - London. Pours clear honey-gold with a light, foamy white head. Pleasant citrusy and lightly dank hops in the nose. Light to medium sweet, with more citrus, light piney and grassy bitterness, tangerine, melon. Medium bodied with fine carbonation; OK condition. Lightly resinous to close, with more melon, citrus, mild bitter grass. Not bad overall.

Gravity dispense at Pigs Ear ’15, 04/12/15. Golden amber with a moderate off White covering. Nose is juicy citric peel, pine needle, tangerine, melon, peach. Taste comprises juicy hops, mango shreds, grapefruit, straw, orange pith. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spiked with hop bitterness. Decent hoppy amber.
