Sweet caramel and raisin. Cloudy copper and Amber with a decent white. Sweet rains in and caramel with a long finish. A bit thin but nice.

Blond colour. Lean, a bit boozy, not oily like other imperial lagers, indeed it's not one of the strongest; but it also doesn't have any interesting malt or hop profile.

Small can (thx, Tyler B!) shared with wife. Pours a very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is roasted malt with some ink and chocolate notes. Similar taste with leather notes. Good one.

Tasting at Matt's
Black oily pour with no head. Strong notes of oxidisation, moderate notes of coffee, mildly earthy, with drier than expected mouthfeel, and light sour notes, dark fruits, more earthiness in the finish.
Sure, good beer, not a big fan of "sour" stouts though.

Dark brown. On the nose, some nice austere woody aromas, with a subtle vanilla notes, with some dark fruits, and tannins. Actually comes across with softer dark malt sugars, and then tannins, wood...nice and dry madeira character. This is a lot of fun because it pulls dark fruits and vanilla but then adding that austere, dry yet raisiny note from the madeira. Yum.

375mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is intense, with tons of madeira upfront, followed by bourbon, some wood, and varnish. Flavour has some varnish, with lots of madeira, followed by a touch of bourbon, and wood. Lots of varnish and red wine. Unusual, but I dig it.
