Bottle at Max’s tasting. Pours clear gold. Nose of strong orange peel, wheat, spicy hops and lemon zest. Taste of wheat, orange peel, lemon zest, bready malt and spicy hops. Medium body.

Dark and thick pour. Booze-filled aroma, roasted malts, molasses, and some cocoa. Flavor has a nice round malt profile, chewy, roasted, molasses, oak, booze, with a lightly bitter, vanilla finish. A solid imperial.

22 ounce bottle into snifter. Pours very dark brown color with a dense 1.5 finger tan head with very good retention that reduces to a lacing cap that leaves some nice lacing. Aromas of roasted malts, chocolate, citrus, dark fruits, oats, and some licorice. Taste of roasted malts, chocolate, and oat, with a decent amount of citrus bitterness on the finish. The bitterness lingers for a short time after the finish. The flavors are very well balanced between the sweetness and bitterness, and the overall main flavors also compliment each other nicely. A very creamy medium-full bodied mouthfeel here with medium carbonation. The alcohol content is hidden very well in this with only a slight warming after the finish. Overall, I am impressed by this offering from Buckeye, it is definitely a tasty RIS. I would like to have some more of this sometime, but it will probably be the next batch.

Sample at the Buckeye Beer Engine. Pours a murky reddish-amber color with a medium tan head that dissipates steadily. Sticky rings of lacing. Aroma of dark fruits, caramel malt and yeast. Full body with flavors of roasted malt, plums, caramel and yeast. The finish is fruity with a lingering figgy aftertaste. Good beer overall.

Sample at the Buckeye Beer Engine. Pours a slightly hazy golden-yellow color with a thin and fizzy white head that burns away steadily. Spots and strings of lacing. Aroma of citrus and wheat. Light, crisp body with flavors of oranges, toasty malt and coriander. The finish is fruity with a sweet malty, wheaty aftertaste. Decent overall.

Medium body with a moderately sour fruit character that has vinous notes, plus flavors of toasted malt, oak and caramel. The finish is fruity with a tart aftertaste. Pretty good throughout.

Rich, smooth body with flavors of roasted malt, coffee, bourbon and vanilla. The finish is oaky with a tasty malty and boozy aftertaste. Good beer all around.

22oz bottle pours an oily, opaque black with a thin, off white head. Nose is chocolate, oats, brown sugar, bread. Flavor is sweet, oats, brown sugar, bread. Finish is smooth.

Bottle shared by MikeTD. A gusher. Pours with a huge off-white head over a deep brown body. Aroma is citrusy with notes of toast, fennel, estery, and chocolate. Flavors of pine, peach, roast and caramel. Lively bubbles. Attenuated finish.

Bomber. Pours almost black with little head and aromas that are sweet and heavy with dark fruit. Soy sauce, pit fruit and a little bit of pine fill the nostrils, and first sip falls right in line. There is a hoppy pine bite right up front, but then soy and dark fruit start to take over... the fruit is odd, almost a black cherry presence and the malt is has a molasses edginess to it. This is pretty good stuff, hides its ABV fairly well, but does leave a little bit of warmth down the throat and in the stomach. It’s fairly sticky, but not syrupy.
