On tap at the brewpub downtown. Translucent brown with medium light brown head. Aroma is nutty, medium carbonation, medium body, and thick small-bubble lacing. Taste is roast, some nuts, and hints of molasses. Fair amount of flavor, but not my thing.

On tap at the downtown brewpub. Hazy golden with medium bright white head. Aroma is herbal hops, medium body, medium carbonation, and some lacing. Taste is some herbal hops and slightly bitter hops. The favor is pretty subdued.

On tap at the downtown brewpub. Cloudy light orange with big off-white head. Aroma is oranges, medium body, medium carbonation, and thin small-bubble lacing. Taste is fruity (mostly oranges) and wheaty. Easy to drink and good beer. The best of their beers I have had.

Sample from cask at the Ohio Craft Brew Fest on 09/13/2014: Pours dark brown with a medium thin foamy tan head that diminishes quickly to an outer ring. Small patches of lacing. Chocolate, peanut butter and malt in the nose. Medium-bodied with flavors of chocolate malt, peanut butter and mild roast coffee. The finish is sweet with a peanut butter cup aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Sample from growler. Pours dark brown with a medium foamy beige head that recedes gradually to a dense film. Patchy lacing. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malt and vanilla. Medium-bodied with a chocolate malted milkshake flavor and notes of vanilla and coffee as well. The finish is sweet with a cocoa and malt aftertaste. Above average overall.

Sample at Studio 35. The beer pours brownish-black with a medium tan head that diminishes steadily. Patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and hops. Medium-bodied with a very roasty character and flavors of malt, coffee, hops and slight vanilla. The finish is dry and roasty with a lingering malt aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

On draught at Barley’s Ale House #1. Pours black with a thin light beige head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Sparse strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, bourbon and coffee. Full-bodied with flavors of roast malt, oaky bourbon, caramel and coffee. The finish is somewhat boozy with a dark malty aftertaste. Good beer all around.

On draught at Studio 35. Pours brownish-black with a medium creamy tan head that diminishes gradually to a film. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of malt, chocolate and vanilla. Medium-bodied with flavors of roasted malt, cocoa and pure vanilla. The finish is sweet with a vanilla and chocolate aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

On cask at Bodega. The beer is a clear orange color with a medium thick foamy off-white head that diminishes slowly. Slippery patches of lacing. Aroma of citrus and vanilla, Medium-bodied with flavors of citrusy hops, vanilla and earthy malt. The finish is fruity with a vanilla and citrus aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sample draught at Barley’s Ale House #1. The beer pours a slightly hazy dark orange color with a medium foamy white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, oak and vanilla. Medium-bodied with flavors of earthy hops, oak and caramel malt. The finish is hoppy up front with a slightly boozy aftertaste. Decent overall.
