From tap at Ølbutikken, 4th year anniversary. Pours hazy dark red to brown with a small off-white head. Sweet cherry and slight marzipan aroma. Slight citric too. Sweet cherry flavoured initially with a mild marzipan note and a mild citric note. Sweet and citric flavours over the back of the tongues, smooth and quite fresh impression. Dry and slight wooden cherry to marzipan finish.

Draft. An unclear red beer with a thin lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet and acidic with strong notes of cherries as well some notes of wood. The flavor is lightly acidic with strong notes of cherries as well as medium notes of almond and lemon, leading to a tart woody finish.

750ml corked bottle, 1988 vintage, broken out graciously shared by ygtbsm94 in January of 2009. Sweet mellow aroma, shows little of it’s age, but still holds up quite well. Still has some carbonation. There are some light sour tastes, but they have mellowed as well. Very pleasant lemon lime wheaty aftertaste. Extra points for aging gracefully. An awesome treat.

Rating 20 Dec 2008:
We had vintage 1984, a 75cL bottle at the Verzekering tegen grote dorst, in Eizingen. Beautiful beer, seems to have even improved in it’s age. Slightly orangy yellow. Head disappears instantly, but logically it is not poored in such a way that it can develop a good one either. Lemony citrus aroma, bread and some apples. Very dry finish. Great way to start a day!
