Description
WAYFINDER BEER is a new brewery project in Portland, Oregon. We have transformed a 8,900 square feet of a century-old brick warehouse in Portland's Central Eastside into a classic destination for beer and food lovers.

Wayfinder is the brainchild of Charlie Devereux (co-founder of Double Mountain Brewery), Matthew Jacobson (co-founder/owner of Sizzle Pie, Quality Bar, and Relapse Records) and Rodney Muirhead (co-founder/owner of Podnah's Pit and La Taq). Our mission: to bring simple and authentic pleasures of the highest quality to the Rose City and beyond.

Guests to Wayfinder will find enjoyment in our 110-seat taphall, or outside on our massive patio. Our menu of handcrafted comfort food features deliciousness from a custom wood-fired grill. We're using our four-vessel, 10-barrel brewhouse to create world-class lagers and ales for onsite enjoyment and wholesale distribution.

Black body beige head. Malty body and field aroma with a floral finish. Was this intended to be a dark pilsner?

Poured from an updated 16 oz can. Aroma is moderately malt forward with bready grain notes. Medium light hop notes that are floral and a bit fruity with a touch of citrus. Hints of alcohol. Pours a very clear, somewhat brilliant, pale yellow-gold with a large, thick, pillowy white head that recedes slowly to a small film that lingers a bit thicker in the edges. Medium light lacing and faint legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with light bready grain notes. Low bitterness and faint alcohol notes. Hop notes are a bit floral and herbal with some nice citrus and fruity notes as well. Crisp, dry finish accentuates the more woody, herbal notes to to the hops. Mouthfeel is light bodied and crisp with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a solid Italian pilsner. Really nice, fresh, sweet malt notes with clean fermentation characteristics. Good hop notes and balanced bitterness. Nice body and crisp, dry finish.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated March 01, 2024. Aroma is crisp and clean with fruity notes of pear, apple and tropical fruit. Light bready grain notes and light alcohol notes. Pours a brilliantly clear, bright, yellow-gold with a medium large, thick, fluffy, white head that recedes slowly but steadily to a small film that lingers. Light lacing and faint legs. Flavor is fairly sweet with light bready grain notes. Medium bitterness and light alcohol notes. Fairly fruity with notes of pear, apple and tropical fruit. Mouthfeel is light bodied and crisp with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright beer but not a particularly enjoyable one from my perspective. The fruity notes are a bit strong and off putting and the beer is just way too sweet.

Straw and some attic dust. Pours golden with decent head. Easy drinking, basic helles. Decent for style but not exceptional the way the ratings seem to show. Light mercury aroma. Tap at Churchkey.

Aromas are malt, cereal and a bit of fruit. Flavors are similar to nose, pick up a bit of toast, add in more toffee and caramel. Not bad. But not great.
