473ml can. Pours an opaque dark brown, almost black with a medium, foamy, short lived, tan head that leaves spotty lacing. Semi-sweet aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate, earth and coffee. Semi-sweet flavour of roasted malt, mild dark chocolate and day-old coffee in a dry, mild bitter finish. Light body with a thin, watery texture and soft carbonation. Disappointing, the “copious amounts of chocolate” was too subtle and the body was too thin for the style.

Weak brown body with no foam. Aroma is nice motor oil, a bit too sweet. Taste is soft sweet molasses and vague bitter coffee, finishes full. Kind of weak for a stout like this in what it delivers.

Cloudy yellow body with minimal foam. Aroma is soft citrus with weak ginger hints. Taste is too much ginger, way too harsh, no lagery stuff to balance it out. Lingering ginger aftertaste. I love ginger but this is too extreme and not working.

Good deep ruby body and little foam. Aroma is nice sweet berry, taste is nice tart berry with lingering sweetness and good grain notes, lingering biscuit. Good for what it is, a sweet and tart sour.

Cloudy brown body with nice foam. Aroma is slight caramel funk, nothing else. Taste is nice funkiness with good caramel and breadiness thrown in ending full and smooth. Decent enough, kind of fun.

Okay light gold body and a bit of average foam. Aroma is nice sweet tea, tart and fresh. Taste is tart tea, soft grain notes, good citrus. Ends bone dry with lingering sweetness. Quite nice in fact, well executed for what it is.

Clear gold body with some okay foam. Aroma is nice soft chewy grain and some lager sweetness. Taste is sweet cracker and honey, slight cereal, ending smooth. A little easy but certainly enjoyable.

Okay gold body with some mellow foam. Smells of faint hops and some vague sweetness. Taste is light grain, soft hops, some chewy malt. Ends full and a little dry. Drinkable but a little characterless.

On tap Moody Ales, pours a dark brown / near-black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out dry earthy cocoa and some toasted malt. Flavour is thin, with light cocoa and some metallic notes. Thin and cocoa-y. Meh.
