Dark brown. Thick head. Big smoke nose. It actually overpowers absolutely everything in its path. Sweet, with a touch of chocolate, and abundant smoke. Again, dominant on the palate. Maybe a touch of wood - hard to really pick out much barrel influence, this is such an unrepentant smoke bomb. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Light raisin and some grains. Cloudy Amber with a small white head. Raisin and some date with a malty caramel finish. Basics are there but not much complexity.

Hazy, pale, with a thin head. The aroma is stone fruit, a bit of grass and a hint of yeast. Mild bitterness. touch of grass and pale malt. OK, the malts are definitely heavy like in a Czech pils but with the mild hoppiness of a mid-range German pils. I feel like the structure is off. With pilsner I feel like you sort of have to pick an ingredient and run with it, and this beer doesn't do that.

Hazy, a little bit dull. Thin head. Light gooseberry and white wine hop notes. Slight tartness, yeasty, fruity notes. OK. Malt/yeast thing isn't great but I like the hop character if it was supported a little better.

Golden and bright. No head. Mellow, if somewhat sticky, pale malt nose. Too stickky on the palate, though, with light plastic phenols and nowhere near enough hops to balance this. I think every industrial brewer in Canada has a beer like this on their roster, that sticky sweet shit lager for depressed old men in depressing old man bars. I know Moody skews to an older demo, but still, this is not a good look for a craft brewer.

Cask. Dully, hazy, a lot paler than red, with a thin head. Has a harsh husky note, burnt electric wire. Yeah, no. That's a flaw that should not make it to the public.

Draught at the brewery
Hazy amber colour. Almost no aroma, vaguely earthy. Earthy malts, earthy hops, robust bitterness.
I wonder if I would have liked this one 20 years ago. Definitively not interested now, though.
