Description
Verboten, which opened in early 2013, is a true boutique brewery. The Sixteen tap handles, including one Nitro tap, rotate often so that new beers can be introduced every few weeks. The brewery also uses as much seasonal and local ingredients as possible in each of our handcrafted ales. At Verboten, we create unique beers taking typical beer styles and adding our own twist to make our constantly rotating selections new and exciting.

On tap at GABF 16'. Pours a cloudy yellow with creamy white head. The aroma is peppers, floral, peach skin. Medium body, wheat, peach, light heat from the peppers, good.

On tap at GABF 16'. Pours a cloudy brown with medium beige head that lasts. The aroma is toasted malt and dark fruit. Medium body, toffee, pure sugar, bready malt, good.

Bottle at WTF V. Pours a hazy orange gold with medium white head that lasts. The aroma is apple skin, oak, lacto. Thin body, similar flavors to nose, light tartness, good.

Bottle at WTF V. Pours black with medium tan head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is roasted malt, dark chocolate, molasses, wood. Thick, chewy roast, similar flavors to nose, bitter dry finish, very good.

Bottle at DRBT 7. Pours a hazy orange with small off white head. The aroma is peach flesh, wheat, dough, salt. Thin body, wheat, tart peach, dought, light salt, crisp finish, very good.

Sample at Collaboration Fest on 03/25/2017. Brown-black color with a medium foamy tan head that diminishes gradually to a film. Partial rings of lace. Aroma of roasted coffee, malt, vanilla and chocolate. Medium to full body with a creamy lactose character and flavors of roasty coffee, chocolate malt and vanilla. The finish is sweet with a roasty coffee and malt aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
