Description
Verboten, which opened in early 2013, is a true boutique brewery. The Sixteen tap handles, including one Nitro tap, rotate often so that new beers can be introduced every few weeks. The brewery also uses as much seasonal and local ingredients as possible in each of our handcrafted ales. At Verboten, we create unique beers taking typical beer styles and adding our own twist to make our constantly rotating selections new and exciting.

Can, thanks Mom & Dad! Sweet caramel aroma with notes of roasted malt, chocolate and some coffee. Pours dark brown with a half a finger of mocha brown head that has good retention and very good lacing. Starts with roasted malt and chocolate flavors as well as having a nice medium body and silky smooth mouthfeel. Finishes very smooth with sweet caramel and a hint of coffee balancing out the porter nicely. Excellent!

Taster at FoBAB. Sample #23. A lot of legginess up the side of the glass. A black beer color, with a thin ring of foam around the edge. The smell is a nice standard Bourbon barrel aged beer. My gosh, it comes in like a very nice light tasting bourbon. Very little dark malt to distract it, just some nice multi-bourbon edge. Pretty much a solid, Bourbon mixed drink type beer. I am just glad I discovered this so late in this session.

Medium light body, Munich malt base wrapped in delicious cognac and bourbon notes. Delish.

12 oz can. Pours an opaque dark brown with a medium khaki colored head that had fair retention. The aroma is big and bold with chocolates and cocoa. The taste is loaded with chocolate, caramel and peanuts. The whole taste concoction reminded me of a Reese's peanut butter cup. The palate was medium in viscosity. Finished long and semi-sweet. Overall: Decent, but kinda weird. Paired well with a Vermont white cheddar.
