Description
We are an artisan brewery located 30 miles northeast of San Francisco in Concord, CA. Our brewery lies at the confluence of the mighty Sacramento river and majestic Mt. Diablo. Our name comes from the Black Diamond (coal) Mines, 8 miles east of the brewery. Here in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, nearly 4 million tons of “black diamonds” were removed from the local hills.

12oz bottle pours with a nearly clear gold to copper hued body that supports a white head of foam. The aroma offers up inviting sweet tangelo juice, mango and pineapple as well as a modest sweet malt bill in the background. The taste delivers hoppy goodness to my senses as I take in pleasing sweetened tangelo, grapefruit and mango all heading smoothly into the malty base just as the hops turn a tad resiny with bitterness. A few more sips brings about a facet of modest spicy dank onion hoppiness. This is pretty solid. My bottle might have a bit of age on it but shame on me. Good IPA with plenty of juiciness and bitterness and body to keep me happy.

Clear amber to copper colored, moderate to strong offwhite creamy lasting head. Aroma of caramel, rye and honey, bit belgian yeast and bit spice. Taste is moderate+ sweet caramel, honey, some rye, some spice and orange, bits of yeast. Light to medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Maybe not as Belgian as it should be but very drinkable and enjoyable. (0,33 from Pivoteka Zagreb)

Thanks Ribafish for sharing this with us at Pivoteka! Misty amber body. Aroma... orange rock candy, malt, slightly stale. Taste... herbal, bitterish, some rock candy, ok, nice, not overbearing, not as stale as it seemed initially. I could believe that this is very very good fresh.

On tap at Southern Filling Station. Pours dark ruby brown. Nose is black cherries, molasses, dates, light chocolate, vanilla, and cloves. Sweet and nicely tart. Medium to heavy body, syrupy and a touch acidic. Overall, this is a complex, nicely balanced, and tasty beer.

At Delirium Hoppy Loft. Sticky, stable, off-white head, clear bronze colour, actually darker than just amber. Aroma of orange peel, dried leaves, old cake, soy sauce, pink grapefruit, raisins, caramel. Subduedly fruity taste, caramelly, nutty, toasted, sweetish with bittersweet finish, medium carbo, leafy and lightly citrussy hops linger. A bit boring perhaps, but decent.

Bottle in the hotel lobby, RBWG ’15, night 2 - 20/02/15 thanks to whomever shared this number. Golden orange with a moderate off white cap. Nose is tangerine, light skunky hop notes, mandarin, straw, mango. Taste comprises tangerine, mandarin, light skunk, pine, grapefruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a skunky hop rinse. Decent SIPA - lots of flavour for the ABV.

Bottle @ home. Slightly unclear orange color, huge thick white head that lasts for a long time. Aroma is malts and quite fruity with fruity hops and tropical fruit influences. Taste malts, light to moderately hoppy, lightly floral, some fruit hops and general fruityness but not as clearly present as in the aroma. Soft bitterness, easy drinkable, suitable carbonation. Decent. [Note: probably way better when fresh, unfortunately I had a bottle with a best before date of July 2015].
