Amber with a medium sized foamy head that left good lacing. Musty with strong ginger, lime, coriander and lemongrass with enough tangy sweetness to offset the intense spices. Very long finish. Moderately full bodied.

16 oz. can. Pours an unclear, brownish, color, with a medium, tan head. The aroma is heavy ginger, cinnamon, rye, and caramel. Not overly sweet, but a little bitter. Medium to heavy body, with a hard, grainy, spicy palate. This is complex and enjoyable, spicy and festive beer.

Can - I can’t help myself - when I see a new Tripel, I have to try it, even if I think it will be terrible - I was pleasantly surprised by this one - first, it’s sweet, but not overly so, and there is a nice dry spiciness and light bitterness that does a fair job of balancing it out - not like the best examples, but a strong effort - second, it is not overly estery like a lot of American bubble gum bombs of the style - third, although there are adjuncts, they aren’t super heavy - the lemongrass is most notable - coriander second - they all kind of meld into the spiciness of the finish, so they don’t linger long - a pretty strong effort, really.

No date on the can.
Pours a clear deep gold with an ample head of foam.
Smells of gingerbread, spicy, malty, sweet, hint of cinnamon.
Taste is spicy sweet, gingerbread, malty, cinnamon.
Good mouthfeel, okay beer.

12 oz. can purchased at Molly's Spirits in Lakeside, CO. Thanks G-unit! Pours a cloudy apple sauce color with a large white head that exploded all over the counter. Very good retention. Almost no lacing. Tropical fruit aroma. Strong wheat ale base beer with some undefined tropical fruit flavors. A little sour? This is more of a wheat ale than a fruit beer. Just not working for me. Sounded good, but a miss.

From wchesser, thanks Santa! In any case, this pours a sort of dull gold with with a white head. Aroma is allspice, a saisony honey tinge, some more spice. Taste is moderately sweet. It is certainly very spicy, with allspice pushing ahead with full force. The sichuan pepper numbness is there in the aftertaste but it is pretty restrained (remember that in mapo tofu or other sichuan dishes, the flavor is created with a combination of sichuan peppercorn and chilis). Body was nice and soft. I enjoyed it.

Taste at the Stanley Beer Hall. Clear, brown color, with a fleeting, khaki color. The aroma is bitter black tea, pine sap, anise, dry grass, cinnamon, and toasted pecans. Dry, flat, light, and bitter. Interesting, but not that tasty.

Sample at Collaboration Fest on 03/25/2017. Brown-black color with a medium thick foamy tan head that diminishes gradually to a film. Patchy lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and oak. Full-bodied with flavors of roast malt, bittersweet chocolate, vinous oak and coffee. The finish is oaky and roasty with a berry and malt aftertaste. Good beer all around.
