Huge yellowish, very even head leaving beautiful lace over hazy straw-coloured beer with orange shine. Initially rather malty nose, but already with an indication of noble hops. Wafts of vegetable frying oil. Toasted malts taste with rather discreet hops. Again this vegetable (deep-)frying oil, a little heated up. Malt bread. Hops seem noble but really remain in the background. Touch perfumey. Rather burning mouthfeel. Medium bodied. Rather sweet (!) aftertaste, again sweetish frying oil. Surprising. I was expecting (hoping...) a hopbomb. I have to prefer its precursor Houblon Chouffe.

Bottled. Pale golden colour with mediumsized white head. Aroma is hops, spices, mild wheat and quite flowery. Also some sweet malts are in it. Flavour is nutty, fruity, spicy, herbal and grassy. Aftertaste is fruits and grass, and stays for quite a bit.

Draught: Poured a hazy orange amber with light soft white head. Smell was floral and pine cone. The taste was a strong bitter citrus flavor.

Dark cherry red color, small red head. Strong fruity rasberry aroma. Thin aromatic rasberry and blueberry flavor, grassy hops. Harsh rasberry fruity aftertaste. Quite simple fruit beer but without artifical feeling.

Thus far the Chouffe beers have failed to impress me. Sampled on draft at Zeno’s in State College PA this beer poured a murky orange-honey color with a medium sized yellow-white head. The aroma was somewhat faint but fruity. The flavor was bitter and very hoppy with orange, grapefruit and some other undefinable fruit flavors mixed in. The finish is long, dry and bitter.

Clear, amber body. Creamy, off-white head. Quite complex aroma of vanilla and hops. The flavours is very well balanced and complex. A lot of hops making it moderately bitter, lightly sweet. A very nice beer with a lovely flavour.
