Description
Hey! Welcome to Urban Roots.
We’re here because we love people and beer.
We wanted to make beer and create a space to show that love to the world. Our place has plenty of room for people to hang out and enjoy one another, some super fresh beer and some really tasty food.
Urban Roots started when Rob and Peter decided it was time to open the brewery they’d been dreaming of for a long long time. They wanted a place where they could express their love for the industry they’ve been a part of for so long. With Urban Roots they hope to pay homage to all of the wonderful people they have met on their journey. People that showed them amazing beer and maybe more importantly showed them a good time.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated October 14, 2025.
Aroma is malty with lots of toasted breads, crackers and caramel. Hints of cherry, and raisin. Light woody, herbal hop notes with a touch of citrus and pine. Hints of alcohol.
Pours a very clear, amber color with Ruby and auburn hues and a large, thick, pillowy, light tan head that recedes slowly to a small film that lingers in clumps on the edges.
Flavor is a bit sweet with toasted breads, crackers and caramel. Hints of cherry and raisin. Fairly high bitterness. Light herbal, woody hop notes with a touch of citrus.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall, a decent amber ale that drinks pretty well. It's a bit on the bitter end but has nice malt complexity and lighter hop notes that work well with the malt profile. Alcohol is well hidden behind the malt notes and bitterness.

Poured from a 16 oz can dated August 12, 2025.
Aroma is malt forward with lots of caramel notes from the crystal malt along with some notes of honey, raisin and cherry. Medium light grapefruit pith and pine resin hoo notes. Light notes of alcohol.
Pours a fairly clear, amber color with auburn hues and a touch of brown and a medium large, thick, pillowy, tan head that recedes steadily to a small film that lingers. Fairly high amount of lacing and small legs.
Flavor is somewhat sweet with fairly strong notes of caramel and lighter notes of honey, raisin cherry and a slight nuttiness. Medium high bitterness and light alcohol notes. Moderately strong hop notes of grapefruit pith and dank, pine resin.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall, a fine American Red Ale. It's certainly not a style I would reach for; in fact I have no idea how long it's been since I had one. But this is well balanced and a change of pace when one consistently drinks either lighter or darker malts.

Crowler Liz brought from the brewpub. Pours deep purple red with a slight pinkish head. Aroma is pure raspberry. Arguably med body. Slightly sour with some berry sweetness. Flavor is about an even mix of the two berries. Nice drink.
