Purple, thin head, tart, very juicy, lots of berry and the sweetness works well with the slightly sharp base.

2024. Amber-brown colour, and no head. The aroma has a bit of bourbon and some light fruitiness. This has a lot of bitterness, and crystal malt. Gets a bit chewy, but there's toffee sweetness behind that. Then, a light bourbon character. Solid, though unspectacular, just more of an easy-drinking English bw.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg 12/04/2024). Clear chestnut brown with minimal beige head. Toffee malt, underlying bittering hops, barrel character is extremely feint. Okay.

On tap at Holy Mountain - Phinney, pours a hazed bright golden with a medium white head. Aroma has a bright gooseberry character, with tangy hops, light pine, and a touch of melon. Flavour is bright, with lots of tangy hops, gooseberry, some dankness, and bitter pine. Wonderful hop expression, finishing tangy and nicely bitter. Excellent.

On tap at Holy Mountain - Phinney Ridge. Pours hazy dull yellow with a white head. Grassy, tangy hops on the nose; a bit dank. Flavour has dank oils, tangy berries; a bit dirty. Lots of good hop expression jammed into a pale ale.

16 oz can. Aroma has notes of garden peas, wet dog, crackery malt, grapefruit. Pours lightly hazy deep golden with a two finger bone-white head with great retention. Taste has a high pithy bitterness and flavors like the aroma.

On a flight in TeKu, Seattle on 16th August 2025. Light haze in the golden pour, white head. Citrus nose and taste, mild resinous undertone kept under wraps by the Citra hops.

473mL can, pours a hazy golden with a medium white head. Nose is full of stick yresinous hops, pine, some white wine tang from the Nelson, and a caramel malt backbone. Flavour is more full-on Nelson, with vibrant white wine tanginess, bitter piney hops, some light resins, and a big malt backbone. That’s some damn nice Nelson expression and an impeccably cleanly crafted beer. Beautiful NZ-hopped westie.

On tap at Chuck’s Seward Park, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma has plenty of Belgian yeast esters, some cotton candy, and soft floral notes. Flavour is not too sweet but is still too estery, with cotton candy, floral notes, and booze. Doesn’t have the right yeast expression, isn’t carbonated enough, and just isn’t hitting the right notes.
