12/11/2024. Crowler shared by SHIG, cheers! Pours very dark brown with a small frothy off-white to beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, hoppy, caramel, vanilla, resin, ashy molasses hints. Moderate sweetness, medium roasted bitterness. Medium body, smooth, soft carbonation. Nice roasted bitterness to finish. Well done.

Panda, courtesy of SHIG, pours with a mahogany colored body that supports a thin light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up spicy to pine like hops blended with dark roasted malts to a but of malt nuttiness to a growing burnt black patent malt sensation. The taste delivers a pleasing load of hoppy bitterness and dark to charred roastiness. I get spicy hop bitterness and then pine to almost pine sap hop bitterness mingling and integrating with the growing highly roasted dark maltiness. There are echoes of softer hop flavors going on but the malt bill and the more aggressive hops keep them well off in obscurity. Solid CDA.

Panda at home, thanks to SHIG, 19/10/24. Extremely dark mahogany brown topped with a khaki head that thins to a swirl. Nose is light roast, dried red berries, earthy hop presence, charr, cocoa powder. Taste comprises bitter roast, ashen tones, pine needle, cola cubes, earthy hop, dried fruit rinds. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced earthy bitter bite. Tidy CDA.

Crowler thanks to Zach as it was no longer on tap but he had a way: Poured a dark green brown, head was lacing and off-white. Aroma is roasted malts, sticky hops that latch on the nose. Taste is bitter hops, roasted malts, a bit earthy, light astringent, veggie, lingers around bitter citrus on the palate.

4 oz. Draft at the source. Aroma is mild red beet and herbs. Flavor reminds me of my grandma’s red beet salad she made when I was a kid. Slightly earthy finish. Pretty cool brew!
