Bottle 56 from Malt & Vine. Pours very hazy brown with a creamy beige had. Aroma of dark berries. Vinous. Med body. Flavor begins slightly tart and quickly heads toward sour. It is dark berry/vinous. The nose continues pleasant, and there is some maltiness that comes out. Finishes with slightly acidic/sour impacts. All in all I’d say this is very nicely done.

Clear amber coloured body with a nice, four centimetre tall, fast-dying white head. Aroma of yeast, brett, sour grapes and a hint of alcohol, along with a touch of hops. Medium-bodied; Strong yeast and brett flavours up front with a deep barnyardie funk and some light metallic notes, with hints of light and earthy hops at the end. Aftertaste shows a deep yeastie flavour with a bunch of malt, some caramel, hints of earth and barnyardie notes - all fairly interesting, if not consistent. Overall, nice to try, some interesting flavours with a definite funky note similar to the other Justice beers I’ve had. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Bottleworks in Seattle, Washington on 10-February-2013 for US$5.39 sampled at home in the real Washington on 20-August-2013.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours sort of dishwater/lemon juice with a foamy white head that got some dirty sediment on it while the damn beer keeps foaming out of the bottle. Good fun!! Aroma is sour lemon with some earthy yeasty aspects. Med body. Flavor is sort of dirt/earth/yeast with lots of sour lemon. Kind of a wild and wooly Berliner Weiss. It fits the style, though there are some strange taste aspects, which I’m getting used to . Finishes really lemon sour with earthiness that isn’t funky. Go figure. What it looks like in the glass is something you wouldn’t want to drink. But do it.

22 oz bomber courtesy of bvc. Listed at 6% abv. The pour is a hazed darker yellow golden with a fizzy one inch white head that falls foamy with decent retention. The aroma is soft citrus lemon fruit and peel, along with a natural wheat malt. Some lime citrus present as well. The taste wheat up front, grainy, turning toward the lemon lime orange citrus, then finishing with a fair bit of spiced yeast and clove. Fresh flavors, nice and fruity. The palate is light to medium bodied, higher level of fine carbonation, and a mix of the citrus fruit and clove in the lingering finish. Nice one, thanks for sending it my way Brandon.

Slightly hazy copper coloured body with a bright golden hue and a thick, four centimetre tall white head - nice with zillions of bubbles rising from the bottom. Aroma of pale malt, wheat, coriander seed, a hint of earthier hops and a little bit of curacao and lemons. Medium-bodied; Assertive yeast and wheat flavour with definite spice notes of coriander seed, a hint of nutmeg and a little clove, some light sweetness, but almost not hops at all. Aftertaste shows mainly wheat and yeast with a bit of spice and a complex clove note. Overall, a good wit, but I’m not seeing anything resembling an IPA or ’White IPA’ at all about this one. Definitely nice to try, but I’ll see what else the brewer offers the next time I’m out West.
