Cask at Callister, Vancouver
Cloudy light amber color with thick sprinkler head. Smooth mouthfeel, with moderate residual sweetness, some malt flavor, but also too much yeast and a metallic finish.
That’s why nobody brews Cream Ales. Because they are not good. Plus, this one is dirty.

Hazy amber color with compact head. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions, it goes from memories of the past, to artificial and chemical components; there is the room of an old lady, stale and sour; wet tobacco or wet cigars, fruity aperitifs from France, almond syrup, candies.
So dubious that eventually it’s really undrinkable.

Dark brown color, compact head. Dark malts aroma, caramel, ass. Some flavor of chocolate and dark malts, but with no depth; undercarbonated even for the style, a bit sourish in the final.
Not a bad beer, but bland and messed.

Brown color, opaque, with creamy beige head. I’m now afraid when ordering a Real Cask, but this one turns out to be delicate, with the hazelnut syrup blending wisely with the soft malts, some fudge; low carbonation and low bitterness.
Pleasant.

On tap at VCBW Festival 2016, pours a deep dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma smells pretty much just like a root beer. Flavour brings out root beer, earthy spiciness and bready malt. Not a disaster, which is a nice thing to say about a Real Cask beer. Meh.

Draft - Smells like an herbal root beer. Dirty brown with a small beige head. Light root beer like notes and some malts. Funny and decent.

Cask - Candied pineapple and tropical fruit. Cloudy gold with a decent white head. Dried Pineapple and some soured malts. Not good.

Brown color, opaque. Nice roasted nuts and peanut butter aroma. Roasted nuts flavor, moderately sweet, some peanuts, some chocolate, and low bitterness.
Pleasant.

Hazy light amber color, compact head. Aroma and flavor of artificial melon syrup, the one used for candies; soft mouthfeel, light residual sweetness, a bit of vegetable bitterness, and the alcohol is too apparent, fusels.
Mah.

Opaque dark brown color with small to no head. The aroma is doughy, yeasty, some caramel, chocolate. The mouthfeel is soft and undercarbonated, there is some caramel flavor, moderately sweet, a bit too much yeast, that leads into an astringent and earthy final.
Not too bad; it lacks a bit of character, this is not a British beer, and it’s a bit dirty.
