Taster at the brewery in Polson, Montana. Pitch black color with a small beige head. Good lacing. Roasted molasses aroma. Typical foreign stout with a molasses-dominant flavor that overrides the roasted notes. Okay.

Taster at the brewery in Polson, Montana. Clear dark mahogany color with a white head. Very good lacing. Light smokey aroma. The flavor has far more Hefeweizen flavor then Dunkel flavor. Hefe flavor up front with an amber ale-like finish. Actually, tastes a bit sour. Not a fan.

16 oz. can from Withey's Health Foods in Kalispell, MT. Pours a clear gold color with a white head and good retention. Lots of active carbonation. Good lacing. Aroma of malt and honey. The taste follows the nose. Mild malt flavor and lots of sweet honey. Not very Kolsch-like. Medium body. Slick mouthfeel. Low carbonation, despite the bubble action. Very clean and smooth and mellow. Not bitter. A good summer beer.

12 oz bottle at share. Dark golden pour with off-white head. Cough syrup, cherry candy for the aroma. Taste is more of the Ludens cough drops flavors, overly sweet and a bit medicinal.

12oz bottle pours out golden topped with a sand head. Nose is big sweet fake cherry syrup. Taste is more of the big sweet cherry syrup hard seltzer that's about it.

355ml bottle. Pours a hazy orange-gold with a thin, creamy, long lasting, white head that laces. Sweet aroma of maraschino cherry and grainy malt. Sweet flavour of artificial cherry, sugar and grainy malt. Light body with a thin, watery texture and flat carbonation. If this is their perennial favorite, they're in big trouble. Not good.

12 oz bottle from $10,000 Bar in Montana. Aroma is doughy, grain, creamed corn, toast. Pours clear golden with a long sustaining bone white head and some lace. Taste is malty sweet, somewhat grainy. Too sweet with not enough hop bitterness.
