Description
Troy Casey began Casey Brewing and Blending in the fall of 2013 with the idea of creating a blendery (a facility that doesn’t have a brewery themselves, but still makes beer) in the Roaring Fork Valley, a place where he and his fiancé had recently decided to make their home. After searching for the perfect location for their barrel cellar, they found their current spot in South Glenwood right on the Roaring Fork River. Troy first began brewing sour and wild beer in 2009 and it quickly took over all of his brewing interest. This all culminated with the creation of Casey Brewing and Blending, a place where Troy will be able to create blends his way.

750mL bottle, pours a clear ros with a small white head. Aroma is lightly jammy, with faint tart blackberries, a touch of oak, and subtle bugs. Flavour is full of enamel-stripping acidity, subtle berry, and more acid. Just a massive acid bomb. Not good at all — how can be people like this?

On tap at The Theodore, pours a cloudy muddy orange with a huge white head. Aroma is musty, with subtle but muted apricot pith, acidity, and some earthy funk. Flavour is tired, muted and acidic, with spent apricot pith, lots of acidity, and some earthy funk. Is this too old, or was it never good? Either way, this is just an acid bomb without any redeeming qualities.

On tap at Kings Beer & Wine, pours a somewhat hazy copper dark orange with a small beige head. Aroma reveals gently tart blackberry, some fruit pie, cinnamon, and a touch of bugs. Flavour is gently tart, with tart blackberry, a touch of bugs, and some acetic notes. There's really not much complexity here. It drinks OK, but it's acetic and lacks much yeast complexity. Meh.
