Keg at BD Aberdeen. It pours darkest brown to black with a medium foamy tan head. The aroma is sweet, oily, sugary, toffee, cakey malts, sticky toffee pudding, something slightly artificial, rocky road, sultana, raisin, roasty malt and fruit cake. The taste is bitter - sweet, with increasing sweetness as you drink it, roasted malt, toasted brown bread, toasted brown sugar, caramac, sticky toffee pudding, varnish, astrifical vibes, chocolate ice cream, burnt toast and some alcohol. Finish is sweet and syrupy. Medium - full body, fine foamy carbonation and sticky mouth - feel. So sweet and sticky. Not my kind of jam...

Keg at Brewdog Camden. A sticky cola brown coloured pour with a creamy light tan head. Aroma is earthy roast, brandy snap sugars, burnt toffee, hint of smoke and rasoberry. Flavour is composed of medium sweet, brown sugars, toffee, molasses, smoked roasted malts, hint of tang. Palate is medium sweet, light tang, moderate carbonation. Chewy. Ok. Alcohol warmth in the finish.

Keg at BrewDog Leicester. Dark brown, pretty much opaque with an uneven beige head. Aroma is lighter than most strong stouts with intense liquorice notes combined with some date and plum aromas. Sickeningly sweet taste with the liquorice drowning out anything vaguely sticky toffee-like. It's more true to its description in the caramel-laden aftertaste. This was a hard beer to drink in many ways.

On tap at BrewDog Shoreditch. Black beer thin head. Oh now that I do like. big dark chocolate that is rich and not too dry and then an underlying raspberry sourness to balance the bug chocolate. Oh yeah that's really good. so easy drinking. not heavy. like an easy drinking cold liquidised Belgian raspberry chocolate. so good. loved it.
