18th Street Brewery was founded as a home brewery by Drew Fox in 2010. After years of hands-on learning and exploration, 18th Street Brewery became official with the release of Sinister DIPA in 2013. Shortly after the Sinister release, we opened a 3,200 square foot brewpub in Gary, IN. Quickly outgrowing that space, we purchased a 32,000 square foot warehouse in Hammond, IN. Our Hammond location now houses our production, packaging, barrel program, a taproom and a full service kitchen. Our original Gary, IN now houses a small 10-barrel open fermentation system, as well as a taproom, craft cocktail bar and kitchen.
We are currently the second largest brewery in Northwest Indiana. Our beers range from saisons to double India Pale Ales to double milk stouts to pilsners and lagers. 18th Street is comprised of hard working, motivated individuals who strive to be the best. We love our jobs. We love our beer. We live and love what we do.

16 oz can that was gifted to me by my friend Tom. The pour is a hazed orange yellow with a big foamy off white head. The aroma is grapefruit and tangerine, fruit sweet and then rind bitterness. along with a bit of cream and vanilla. The taste is the citrus fruit, bright and fresh, softly sweet and is followed by more of a sweet cream, then dries out with the rind bitterness. The palate is unfiltered, medium bodied, soft carbonation and the dry crisp finish. Easy drinking hazy, nice one.

16 oz can from McGowan and Sons in Valparaiso, Indiana. Pckg on 11 15 23 per bottom of the can. The pour is a hazed copper golden with a very lasting one and a half inch foamy white head. The aroma is caramel toasted malt and a touch of floral. Fairly faint. The taste is malty, caramel, a bit of crystal malt iced tea and a whisper of wet cardboard. The hop is mostly generic bitterness. The palate is medium bodied with soft carbonation and a finish of caramel malt and dry floral grass. There is something here, I would love to try it fresh.

Small brown fizzy mediumlasting head, deep dark pour. Aroma is sweet sour-ish fruity, dark sugar, raspberry licorice, dark malts, minerals, cough syrup, alcohol, fruit stones, tar, broth, bark. Taste is slightly dry sour-ish roasted, dark malts, fruit stones, raspberry licorice, alcohol, bark, minerals, tar, grass, paper, burnt toast. Medium bitterness, slightly harsh sour-ish roasted mouthfeel. Probably way over the top long ago...

Tap at Sugar Maple. Full bodied, not really overbearing though. Oily, sort of odd but birch tone. Drinkable, but not that great for the style.
