The first beer from one of a whole new league of locally operating microbrewers (and dedicated commissioners) in the Belgian province of Liège, themed around Walloon wildlife. Thick and frothy, eggshell-white, papery lacing, pillowy, stable head on a hazy peach blonde beer with deep, warm orangey hue. Aroma initially dominated by sharp carbon dioxide, but quickly shifting to impressions of dried apricot, deep-fried tomato peel, coriander seed, 'herbes de Provençe', soggy rusk, gypsum, tamarillo, old dried out grapefruit peel, peanuts, vague chicken broth note. Crisp, fruity onset, sharply carbonated with very minerally effect; impressions of dried apricot, unripe peach and vague apple peel and unripe pear, quite restrained in sweetness, in all; light sourish edge around a 'fluffy', bready malt base with grainy sides, leading to a quite long, earthy finish, in which spicy coriander (and a thyme-like accent) pops up but turns out to be no match for a lingering, leafy, drying hop bitterness, much more so than I was expecting - yet not sufficiently so for the (Belgian!) IPA stamp. An old school hoppy blonde, nothing truly innovative and a bit 'dirty-yeasty', but feeling honest and well-made, in fact better than I was expecting, to be frank. Not bad at all for a first one, certainly not in a classically Belgian context.

Ipa like. Not very Belgian, but quite nice. Dry dank tropical hoppiness . Quite full on.

On tap @ Pot au Lait (Luik). Hazy golden color, white head with good retention. Aroma with notes if sweet malts and cookies. Flavor is slightly sweet, some citrusy, good maltiness. Smoothy and flowery final.
